Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

He also started getting slagged off any time he posted something that didn't end up coming true. Happens to all the "insiders" eventually, they hear something that doesn't work out and people on the forum get upset at a non-perfect strike rate.
That’s what happened with myself I had a shot at him over Aloiai going to Manly out of the blue.
I really understood him when he said that it happened so quick, things change.

Just listened to the WestsLife podcast. Apparently one of the presenters caught up with the Fainu brothers manager last Wednesday and he was told by their manager that the WT are behind the Dolphins and the Dogs(yep they met with Gould last Thursday). Apparently money is not the issue, They are not sold on our club vision, Tarak wants Latu and his brother to go to a successful club. Looks like we missed out on them.

Then you can't be reading what he wrote....
He 'stated' that Clune will help our team become an attacking 'threat' and score some points....

Clune - The guy that's marshalling a team in 2nd last of a 13 team comp - With a similar for and against to our NRL side (Who just got done by 74 in one hit out....)
Before that, He was speared by the Dragons who are also a basket case...

Clune, Wests Tigers and NRL should never be heard in the same sentence.
As I’ve said previously, we are not in a position to sign any high profile players.
It would not make sense to hang your hat on someone like Clune only, but by adding he and others looking for more regular NRL game time such as Cogger or Volkman and having them compete for our NRL 7 jersey would be a vast improvement on what we currently have at 7.
Then add a good attacking 5/8 and we improve again.
In addition to this keep building with our own young talent while waiting on a few of them to develop into genuine NRL stars.

I think all managers want their young guns going to successful clubs. It helps their branding. It’s also a growth income stream for their business. Return on investment. Player is more likely to develop at a successful club. More likely to grow their contract size and a higher commission over longer timeframes.

A part of a long list of why clubs with poor results struggle to sign players…this complements well the business model to sign older busted, 2nd rate players on overs.. managers win:win.

So the manager just happens to tell confidential information to a random Tigers supporter who happens to run a podcast (knowing it will get out) and it was supposedly last Wednesday before the Mole's info came out. He says that the club vision isn't good enough for the 2 boys. The same club vision that has seen him lock up his clients TDS, Kit and Luke Laulili'i, Jordan Miller long term among other juniors at the club. If somehow true that he did speak to the Westlife guy, it is about Wests altering something in their offer before joining us. Otherwise it would have just been announced to Phins.

complete dribble.

There is no unity at the club, at least publicly it seems. Sheens has not made one positive comment towards Fulton or the rest of the management. It has just been 6 weeks of turmoil since Fulton was hired. As a prospective employee why would you want to go to a job/company that is going nowhere, where you can genuinely be unsure in a year's time if the job promised will be the job you actually do?

Clear as day, the CEO ans management have no clue what they're tryingr to do.

Regardless of what the Westslife podcast guy said the point is if they don't sign with us with Fulton almost 100% certain to get them then we really need to start accepting that as a club we stink with managers despite who is wearing the recruitment/ coaches hat.
This is a club issue - and clearly managers who have more influence over where players end up than the salary cap itself, don't want a bar of us.
If that is not good enough reason alone to say the club needs a shake up from the top down I don't know what is.

Our only way out of this is with the kids coming through. No one is coming here, and its only scraps left to sign now for next year. The key now is holding on to and keeping the good ones but a lot of pain until they are genuine fist graders.
Agreed. Sheens articulated something similar when he came on board. It is our chance to build our own culture from the ground up with locals who are proud to play for WTs and other outstanding juniors WTs have recruited. I look forward to the day our young players tell their managers no I want to play for WTs not some other team which can't produce its own.
