Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I have issues with Tupou's defense.

You see some of our games and Tupou is just lacking on the wing. I can't tell if the defensive line isn't moving fast enough to cover the wing OR if Tupou is positioning himself too far in.

Melbourne with Warbrick,
Cronulla with Sione.

If Newcastle offered to trade him for Bradman Best I would do so in a heartbeat.
Don't disagree. Tupou has holes in his game. He's also our most dynamic outside back. I wonder if he's a centre playing on the wing.

Thing is- he's better than most at the club. I'm not suggesting you invest the farm into him. I'm suggesting you don't let someone steal him away & we watch him blow up elsewhere.

Real X factor

Passing game

can play 1 or 6

No doubt we consider him.......about two months after Gus gets his man.

Gus = out and about with everyone decent off contract.

Our boss = "something always falls from the trees"...
I like Taaffe. If Brodie Croft rumours are true- they are quite similar.

I don't see how the Bulldogs even interest Taaffe. Is he playing #6 over Burton? #1 over Creighton?

maybe Burton to centre, that's his spot I think - they have overpaid though.
That would be admitting defeat. Burton is the great white hope. Bronson Xerri is signed to play in the centres there next season too.

Taaffe can do what he likes. But he's about 6th in line at the Rabbitohs next season with Wighton coming in. And possibly moves up to 5th in line at the Bulldogs.

There has to be better career opportunities for an available halves player.

Don’t get why we don’t appear interested in him

Bro is our club even trying to do anything? It’s so disappointing to see that gus is even just talking to Blake taffe we have all this money and top 30 positions while the dogs (surely) have little cap room and no top 30 spots. Kinda hurts that we can’t even get a kid from manly after we just gave up 2 players

They got the John Morris rumour wrong no doubt. The club changes tac like the weather but you hang on to that one because all mail has 100% accuracy doesn’t it. Lol. The fact is one of the hosts had a 20 minute phone conversation with said manager. Nothing is final but it was a real conversation. The only dribble I see is your opinion on something you have no clue about and casting aspersions about others who put their names & faces to something and provide an informative podcast listened to by more people than you could ever imagine.
What else have you got for us, Rob?

Kepoao left Toups out to dry against the Storm when he kept running out of the defensive line quicker than Ben Johnston in’88.

Bloody oath, he’s a terrible footballer. I don’t see a first grade quality player in him at all.
He will always be a million times better than but as an arm chair rugby league coach perham wouldn’t get a development contract out of me. Defence is poor his attack is indecisive he’s slow compared to other fbs, currently the blokes not a first grader compare him to Bula who’s roughly the same age and has less experience

Yes... but so long as people accept the very real possibility that (a) changing the upper management does nothing, or (b) changing the upper management derails the current strategy and we go back to another rebuild.

In other words - I'm not saying don't do it, and it definitely hasn't been done recently, but don't complain in 2-3 years if we are not fixed. When you get down to the final argument of "it's the only thing we haven't tried" - that by definition means you have arrived at probably the most risky and least logical move, a scorched-Earth mentality.

For example, what happens if there really is a factional split between Sheens and Fulton? If you oust Pascoe and Lee, you might find Sheens takes control and sidelines Fulton, and it might actually be Sheens who is the core of the current problem (given that we ousted the previous coach on his advice). It might actually be that Scott Fulton is the one who is going to drive new and key changes within the long-term strategy.

Also accept that the Board is extremely unlikely to step down and really what fans are gunning for are the bishop and knight pieces on the board.
'changing the upper management derails the current strategy...' - strategy of increasing failures?
'don't complain in 2-3 years if we are not fixed' - can it be any more broken, & if it were not would it matter?
'arrived at probably the most risky and least logical move' - this was not 'arrived at'. It is the only logical move. By saying it was the only thing that wasn't tried does not mean a last resort after everything else has been tried. In fact this move should have been done many years ago before failure became endemic.
As I said, hagi pascoe and sheens must be replaced

Mate I think they'll play him at FB given how bad
Hayze Perham has peformed for them there.
But having said that, they signed Chricton on
big coin saying he will play there. Gus is doing
what he does best. Lying & blowing up the cap
Surely the nrl needs to have Atleast a sticky beak into the bulldogs after the allegations of Tino being offered a stake in a pub and the amount of players they’re turning over/signing there’s no way with the current squad and players they’ve signed coming in that club has money for Blake taffe or the fainu brothers
