Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Huh? Completely different type of players, both really good at what they do.. Fainu is all brilliance, instinct and anticipation,, has time and class.. sanders more like a chess player, moving team around , controlling the game … 6 and 7 … would be a terrific combo if a club could arrange it… imagine these 2 with the tigers forward pack , Matamua and Tupou , BULA , Aand Tallyn serving it up,to,them CMON Benji, sell them on that vision!
Exactly … read what u said about sanders. Isn’t that what we need ? Sanders is the better pick in my opinion. We won’t get either , so another 45 pages banging on about it .

Fainu looked impressive last night and as Joey said "is ready to play NRL" would be a real coup to get him now. But after his performance last night I think there will be a lot more teams after him.

Watching Pearce play this morning and he's very similar to Wakeham. He's just playing the link man shoveling the ball.
We might as well keep Wakeham for his goal kicking.
A link man isn't what we need.
We need speed. Demon speed. Speed's what we need. Greasy fast speed

Demon speed?

That's some serious speed.

Throw some serious coin at Sanders and Fainu. Not overly impressed with Samuela but he’s still a kid with NRL experience.
I actually thought Faagutu was one of the best fowards on the field.
Made a pretty big impact with and without the ball. He’s got NRL written all over him .

Agree bro.. Samuela didn't take a backward
step but got dumped everytime by a rugged QLD
pack. Sanders & Fainu would be a dream come
true with all our juniors coming up. Faagutu
is an absolute dawg. The kid has got it 100

So halves for next year:
Seizer
Latu Fainu
Ethan Sanders

How good, to good to be true
I think Ethan Sanders only signed with Parra this year didn't he?

If the Tigers manage to jag Fainu, and sign Sezar, I can see them looking at someone like Volkmann to sit behind Sezar & learn.

If they don't sign Sezar, then Brodie Croft is likely the target.

Sanders and Fainu both play completely different games.
Classic 7 and 6
Sanders has an elite kicking game for a teenager, super impressed with him.
Faagutu’s number one fan here haha .he’s going to be some player ,well done to whoever poached him.

I can’t see the club targeting fainu aswell as sanders myself. One or the other. Two young halves in a rookie year wouldn’t be good imo

Agree. Jagging a win on Friday night prime time
football is important 4 the optics of this club.
Not saying it will do anything special, but we've
taken a beating on and off the field in the last
few weeks. Only game, on FTA, need 2 show up

Im resigned to believing that it doesnt matter who we are targeting at the moment until what's going on off the field - what ever that is - sorts itself out, we are mud. And because thats in the hands of the people who created the current problem while ever they are all still there, we remain a no go zone.
Do you really think any manager is going to negotiate a deal with their potential young talent with us when they have other options at clubs with experienced coaches and proven paths to success. How many knockbacks do they need to get before they get it - no one is buying what they are selling

This year is gone
Took until Xmas last year to know that we signed Bateman. I know it’s frustrating but I would rather wait for better than overpaying earlier in panic mode just to appease the wolves
Getting hyped up by media and rumours that are on social media is not good for a supporter’s mindset. Even on here I think there is posts to drive journalists and managers agendas

There is probably some truth in that but the proof is in the pudding as they say and our inability to compete with clubs for players we want. We weren't competing with other clubs to get Klemmer or Bateman. The club has been in freefall since they sacked Maguire - results have not improved and that just adds to the noise on the back of recent decisions.

Imagine that - imagine that you don't sign for a club because some other dude that your manager manages didn't get a gig.

It either sounds like pure baloney or top-tier bad advice.

Imagine your manager turning or talking down opportunities for you because some other bloke didn't get a golden ticket.

If this was true, well Schuster didn't sign for the Dolphins either.

I'm sick of this trend that seems to have crept into the game where the players bow to what their manager wants. Bring back the old days when players told their managers what to do and took control of their own life.
