Everyone talking about needing to sign halves, outside backs, etc., when really the position requiring the most urgency is CEO.
Definitely sounded like Braith and Benji have had some conversations in the background.
First time in a long while I've agreed with braith.
Some telling points;
- Said any back would look good in Penny's system (Re:Cogger)
- Implied Latu 'Hype' might be an exaggeration/overdone
- Suggested Sezer (Benjis call) was a good signing given the situation
- Rubbished the claim that Fulton Was the best recruiter out there (Lee's claim) - based on manly current position and the fact that Fulton Was in his 1st year of top 30 recruitment
- Then ridiculed Manlys Signing of Schuster for 800k / and then scoffed at the suggested he was worth 1.2mil (Assumeb this is what he was after to come to the tigers) - Fulton's pick and hence another dig at Scott
Looks like they're gonna have to hitch their wagons to the benji train

I actually thought Lee was doing a pretty good job of answering their questions
Management will stay on the Benji train until they hit their first major obstacle and then drive away from the potential train wreck the minute it starts to look bad.I wouldn't trust any of those people as far as i could throw them.Muppets

For what is worth and I mentioned it yesterday - Benji shouldn't have last say in signings.
He's a rookie coach and will have enough on his plate.
Too often we've been screwed over coz a coach has been centre of the recruitment universe.

Every NRL coach chooses their own players, particularly the top 17.
A manager in a workplace chooses their own staff, so no different.

It appears Braith and Benji are mates or at least have a good level of respect for each other.
The club need to let Fulton work with the player managers. He was hired because we have failed to build relationships for a very long time. The coach should ultimately get final say on the player not the contract value or term. On face value Benji calls no to schuster on 1m and sezer over Cogger are the right ones in my view.
Fulton should be lining up player A, B, C, D in line with needs and getting buy in from coaches and management. It’s not rocket science.
The more I see this play out Benji, Fulton and Holbrook seems likely to me. Sheens will be sidelined or left out and Pascoe will be the scapegoat deservedly so. Lees words gave me that impression and it’s become evident Lee is a true chairman of a board not an executive chairman that runs anything footy related.
