With respect … have you seen many Warriors games lately? Why would they let him go next year when he is still under contract ? dude is on fire …
Well let’s hope so. Other clubs would be very happy to keep an underpaid overvalued player for that final year because it benefits the team more than the individual.
Guess it all comes down to Metcalfs circumstances around staying in NZ or coming back to Oz.
Also think Andrew Webster is more the man manager coach that won’t hold a player back from an opportunity they can’t match.
Next season could be all about bringing Volkman into the fold to be Johnson’s long term successor?

You are the pot calling the kettle black. You are one of the biggest sooks on here and This all started coz I called you a sook and said you’d be unhappy if the lotto man rang with a win. Then you pretty much confirmed my suspicions and proceeded to carry on like a pork chop for a week at me, fat shaming me. You should be careful fat shaming people, mods should look into this, I could be mentally weak like you sucker and really took that to heart, or worse.

NRL - Nothing to see there of course.
The whole NRL needs an overhaul if they are serious about a level playing field.. Draft needs to be looked at, maybe a points system for players, Caps on TPA, Better deductions for clubs who bring the juniors through.

🤣 I'll have to come back when I have some supporting arguments.
Don't get me wrong, I know he does a lot of work in player welfare and growing the game for the NRL, can't imagine how tough his situation would be.
But in terms of articulating the nuisances of footy, the guys no Cameron Smith.
They definitely won't let him go this year, but with Harris-Tavita due back as well as TMM and Volkman on the books I think they might be willing - they can't afford to keep him long term and he won't stay if CHT is playing first grade ahead of him.

Caught a podcast he was on and spoke about his time as recruitment manager identified and brought over guys like the big Pom knights winger. Think he has a fair grasp of things in nrl talked about ahow unfair things are

Wish Sheens was more ruthless, I bag him out a bit but he has 4 premierships to his name, you don't get that through luck, wish he would use it for more clout and throw his weight around more.

Needed a draft and free agency system sorted like yesterday, iv no doubt given enough time with the current system interest in the game will wane, it'll die off.

I think if the Warriors release any of their halves, it will be Volkman. He's the only one not playing consistent NRL.

We are the only team that thinks about “the long term”….
Other teams want to win now and in the “short term”…
If I as the Warriors …i would rather keep Metcalfe then the other three you have mentioned,,,
