Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Player managers also have other clients including talented juniors. The club has put effort and resources into the Pathways and the identification and retention of our best juniors. Adding another assistant is not an unreasonable concession to make to ensure we do not compromise the great initiative the club has with its Pathways/juniors etc. Adding someone of the quality of John Morris is a big win for WTs.
True, so long as we don't get stuck at the mercy of a player manager like the last time, they have way too much power atm.

He is there to protect Benji, who is coaching the side. His role is to be a minder, which he is doing whilst Benji learns the ropes. Anyone thinking that Sheens is coaching the side is deluded.
Totally, Benji is doing everything atm. Sheens is just the face chiming in with advice when needed otherwise I reckon he's only there to take the arrows from the media

Tuiaki…lets go back to Noa Nandruku like another guy did yesterday…

unfortunately it’s not 1990 anymore and Sheens isn’t 40 years old…

he is starting to look a bit tired and beaten in these press conferences as the year has gone on..

he might need a rest

Legendary Brisbane Broncos recruitment officer Cyril Connolly is a name most would recognise. I think he was around 80 when he officially retired from the Broncos. I'm sure you know he brought to the club players of the quality of Hancock, Carne, Renouf, Sailor etc. Age didn't weary him. While the body may not be as physically willing, the mind is still sharp,

He has nothing to do with Sheens nor the NRL landscape of 2023 and beyond….

I think Sheens has just managed to piss off the player manages that Fulton knows to bring players to the club. Dumb move.

As much as I dislike Sheens… its not his place to be suckholing player managers… they pay Fulton to do that…

Anyway … we know Benji is having the final say on new players now… not Sheens

Sheens like Madge can’t coach anymore and the game has moved past them. Benji is still fresh. Holbrook comes in , has experience , great at junior development and will help Benji immensely. Get it done you terribly managed club!!!!!!
What makes you think Benji will be a good coach?
By all reports he has been running things most of the year and has lost 14 from 17 games.
He has also failed to attract any talent, missing out on a lot of players he wanted.

Parra have better options than Blake in their ranks...

Despite how you (and i) perceive Jake Simpkin, from an outside perspective he could be perceived as a decent option for other clubs.

We hold the cards - we should offer him up but we should be the winners in the deal.

I'd be holding out for Haze Dunster or Sean Russel... they're better than Waqa.
Parra need a hooker now. This season is probably the only chance of Eels taking Simpkin while Hodgson is out so I doubt they'll swap an existing top 13 player in Russell. Maybe Haze Dunster who Benji is mates with but not sure if Dunster is much better than Blake. Has anyone got any good feedback on Dunster?
