Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Andrew Webster seemingly coaches well, his results are backing that up.
But there is little doubt Benji would be doing just as well if he had the current Warriors squad to work with.
On that topic, Dylan Walker would be an exceptional recruit for us.
He’s not off contract and probably wouldn’t want to leave the Warriors with the success they are having, but an offer of earning significantly more than what the Warriors are paying him could entice him to get home sick.

I highly doubt that. Webster did the work. How many years of coaching in him? Benji is a Virgin. But no disrespect to Vicious.

Is anyone hearing Blake Taaffe to the Tigers? I am not a source of intel. Just heard it from a collegue who is a Rabbitohs supporter. He heard it down the grape vine from a reserve grade Rabbitoh. So not to the Dogs....

Give a coach a decent spine and he will have half a chance of achieving some level of success - I.e. win more than they lose.
Ciraldo would be doing just fine if he took over Cleary's roster as would most coaches. The best coaches may be the ones to get the very best from a team consistently, but no coach will achieve success without the players to make it happen - we are living proof of it.

He is taking over Cleary's roster. Slowly. Luani next. Apologize for my spelling of people names. A tell-tale sign

Have it on pretty good authority that Connor Tracey is desperately trying to get out of his deal with Cronulla, however Cronulla refuse to let him leave as the belief around the squad is that Siosifa Talakai is the one being shopped around quietly and are hoping for his form to improve so they don't need to chip in too much. Cronulla aren't impressed with the way he has played since signing his big $ contract late last year after playing origin when his stock was quite high and are hoping to offload him. Parramatta had a verbal agreement with Tracey but have now cooled there interest due to Cronulla's unwillingness to let him go.

Where the story gets interesting is that if Talakai becomes available we're one of the clubs that'll throw our hats in the ring as we actually contacted his management last year before he re-signed.

Personally, if Sharks chip in I'd happily take Talakai off them. Tracey's frustrations is growing by the day though as he's 27 and wants to be playing NRL consistently. Either player would improve our outside back depth quite significantly.

So true, it’s all about having a standout 9, 7 and 1 and 14 other players who believe in the coach and are willing to work for each other.
Bellyache could not turn Wakeham into a champion, but he probably could surround him with a couple of champions so he can get a job done. Anyway, a good coach helps but it’s your roster that wins games

Don't really know what you mean by that....
I think WT's have all the potential in the world...
Unfortunately, That rarely (if ever) becomes reality....

Bit of a Story, I ran into Blocker in the 05-06 off season at a function or some such out west...
Asked him how he thought the Tigers will back up after winning the comp - He laughed at me, and said "They're not the Balmain Tigers mate"
Then followed it up with, "They should never have won that comp - It was the worst thing that could ever happen to them"

I never really knew what he meant by that, Or why a Footy Legend with a distant tie to the club
would be saying it so close to winning the comp...
Hindsight, Being 20 odd years older, The Internet / Media and being a bit more versed in the reality of the
Wests Tigers..
What he said doesn't surprise me now.

You get me wrong is all, I'd be happy to be proven wrong.... Been waiting a long time though.
Makes you wonder why he couldn’t just enjoy the moment, bitter fool.

A man who still uses the term “easy walk to the 20” as you see the fullback running like a bat out of hell to tap and go on zero tackle.
and my all time favourite " the in GOLD area"
And as others have mentioned, I am yet to see an ex player who now is on commentary, ravage his old club so poorly. I get that he might not want to be seen as biased towards us, but we get zero love from him.

Nope, any half would have to have the utmost confidence in their ability to turn things around before agreeing to set foot into this place. Otherwise they know they’ll just be the next scapegoat and I don’t think any amount of money they earn could offset that unwanted mantle.
Lucky Sezar did not read the memo.
