No he was interim coach when Taylor got punted until Cleary arrived.I recall Webster filling in as head coach for us when Cleary ran off... or whichever coach it was
That is correct - he was assistant coach for Hull KR under Justin Morgan (who is now is assistant at the warriors) and he also created Hull KR pathways program. SG Ball at Balmain (undefeated season), JF Parra Head Coach, then back to the tigers for a few years. Cleary poached him when Barrett left. They used to car pool together everyday to training when at the tigers as they both lived in Penrith hence the relationship grew pretty strong.
Andrew understands his players strengths and then coaches within that rather than find players that fits how he wants to coach. That is what you call flexible coaching - getting the best out of what you have got and provide support in the gaps.
Fantastic coach, even better person.
I only love watching Wests Tigers. Win or Lose. The rest is entertainment.Sounds so logical but so many coaches just can't be flexible. Love watching the Warriors and I'm on them big time. Be great if they won it. Andrew had the skills to play NRL, probably just lacked the speed that his brother had. Reminded me of Trent Barrett.

According to 360 earlier he is a quiet achiever, no histrionics or half time rants. Just talks about what needs to be done, and most importantly has achieved buy in by the players, notably SJ. Don’t know where the Warriors will end up , but they have done very well so far and playing attractive football.I see Webster as a no nonsense type of coach, like Bellamy. Maybe the type who would avoid the late night boozing and bullshitting sessions.
Similiar style, yes, but TalaKai is a lot lot better at it.. Talau is bog ordinary, Lazy and selfish.. I cannot wait to see the back of him and his Imp chaperoneTracey is where it's at....
May as well have kept Talau rather than sign Talakai...
Same player just a different body shape.
Ha … we put Flipper Kepoa on the wing,, the flapping arm tackle exponent that just takes an armchair seat and watches how the play pans out after he misses his man… seen nothing like it in decades of Rugby League viewing.. shame too because he started to play well in the forwards earlier in the yearForget about Bennet he’s going cenile.
Who would play Te Whare on the wing ? Klemmer is quicker than him.
Well. When they run out with the Rocky theme. My bad. Should be more succinct.I admire you. As a Tigers supporter, I can honestly say I HATE watching the Tigers.
Wasn’t Talakai in the forwards when he first came into grade? I could have sworn he was in the Sharks forwards rotation originally. Not a fan of Talakai at all he is just another BJ and at a crisp age of 27 start of next season he won’t get faster and find he will move probably to the forwards anyway.
Some of his efforts this year have been shocking & he has been found out a few times with lack of speed.
I remember seeing him interviewed when he was the interim tigers coach and the humility he displayed was so refreshing as well as how excited he was to be at the helm.. he seems like a really exceptional person that also possesses a true love of and appreciation for Rugby LeagueThat is correct - he was assistant coach for Hull KR under Justin Morgan (who is now is assistant at the warriors) and he also created Hull KR pathways program. 100% correct good footballer! On the hand if he was very intelligent maybe would have stayed clear of footballl? That bag of rocks help put Balmain on the map. Just like Dallas Donnelly for the Magpies.
Thanks I was curious what the timeframe was. So us, moved on along with Payton when we began the JT era. Then back to us when we began the Ivan Era and then off following Ivan after a year of Madge. He was also McFadden's assistant coach at the Warriors from 2015-17.
Or maybe we're trying to space out the annoucementsDoes the fact we have not already signed Aidan Sezer mean other options are on the table ?
You would presume Sezer is not flushed with NRL options and probably would have already signed with us if our offer was concrete.

Watch his press conferences and you can see how he engages with the media (even when they try to bait him) and how his players talk about him.I remember seeing him interviewed when he was the interim tigers coach and the humility he displayed was so refreshing as well as how excited he was to be at the helm.. he seems like a really exceptional person that also possesses a true love of and appreciation for Rugby League
Remember when we started the 2012 season as premiership favourites? Oh, those were the times. When we had genuine hope of winning the comp.Forgetting the fact we finished top 4 the two years prior (making a prelim final and losing by a point) and still won 11 games that year (2012)?
Oh yeah they were really difficult times to be a fan 😂
You would however have a chance if all the coaches were at WT and the others had none! The playing roster makes the coach.
Some are better at Talent ID than others, so have the knack of creating strong rosters which include a handful of cast offs that were not wanted or not appreciated by other clubs.
But at the end of the day, you don’t have to be a genius to coach a strong roster to be successful and likewise coaches don’t have a magic wand to make sub standard rosters win many games.
There is not a coach on the planet who could get our current playing roster into the top 14.
