Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I thought Sezer was pretty much a done deal pending a medical, which you assume could be done in the UK. Seems as though there's a bit to play out there. I wouldn't have thought a 1 + 1 deal was an unreasonable request as long as the $$ arent huge.
As for Sullivan i think if we could also get that done along side Sezer that would be decent only 21 still a high ceiling there.

Early days but with all the player movement so far it seems we will be fighting the Dragons again for the spoon in 2024. Unless we can create some roster spots by moving on players our recruitment will be virtually over
Not laughing but can’t find an emoji on this forum that is balling its eyes out.

If we assume Doueihi is potentially paid out for next year with money from this years cap, what do you think the rumoured (and confirmed) halves signings might cost us in 2024? Something like:

Fainu $500k
Sullivan $350k (surely St G kick in a bit)
Sezer $350k
Who else?

Don't appear to be breaking the bank and leaves funds for some decent backs aka Lomax.
It would be more like

Sezer 400 - 450k
Sullivan 350k
Latu 300k

The Fainus are on closer to 2 million over the 4 years than 4 million. Latu goes to 400k+ in his last 2 year. The 500k is only in the last 2 years and it is performance based. Meaning if he's the real deal than he will be paid like it, otherwise we are paying a bit less on potential.

Wakeham sign on a cup or train and trial contract but I wouldnt give him more, he's a decent 7 to help our younger 6s in cup or to pop up later in the year if our depth is stretched.

Someone like Jonah Pezet would be the one to target. An out an out 7, comes from a winning system, development timeline in line with our younger guys. If our club gave him stupid money to do it I really wouldn't be opposed either.

We need some proven talent now

Again, who is proven right now that is free? There's almost no one proven as a 7 left in the game. We probably have 1 choice and it's Adam Reynolds. I would love it but I just can't see it happening unless they grab Ben Hunt.

I think there is a great deal of gratitude on both sides though, he saved Walters coaching career and Brisbane believed in him still when everyone else thought he was done.

Luai would probably be the biggest gamble. He isn't a proven 7 either but neither was Moses, we would have to pay something stupid like 1.2 over 3-4 years though.

So no one wants to come to the tigers , because we are hopeless, but the dogs have a far worse defence than us and they have been at the bottom longer than us , so someone is not selling us very well
Dont know why this forum is obsessed with the Dogs. They haven't signed any big names since Crichton.
Liam Knight, has been playing Reggie's.
Taafe a backup at Souths who gets a run when Latrell is out. Would be backing himself to get the Dogs fullback spot.
Salmon, fringe first grader with a relationship with Ciraldo.
Not sure any of them would make our starting 17 when we're fully fit.
Sexton would have been a nice get for us but still Reggie's half at Titans. He is also someone many on the forum didn't want and apparently has existing relationships at Dogs from his previous time there.
