Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Of course, I'd be equally happy to bring back another 'safe' player in Paul Momerovski.

He would certainly add a calmness to our defensive structure, either at centre or wing. Momerovski & Hunt side by side might be one of the soundest defensive edges in the NRL, but probably a bit lacking in excitement.

I know Alamoti and his family pretty well - very very humble kid who works hard and doesn’t drink or do anything. All he does is train and wants to improve himself, he definitely has a winning mentality that you would want in your squad for someone his age.

Killed it in the juniors not just cause of his size but he’s actually quite quick on his feet and is hard to contain was a tackling busting machine from memory. He’s still only 19 so he’s only going to get bigger and more agile imo.

Only issue is defensively but I believe he can definitely clean up that area. He’s just still adapting to defending in the NRL and can get there overtime, I personally feel like he was rushed into the league and maybe needs more time in reserve grade or another pre-season. He has the talent for sure to be an elite NRL centre people forget about his age and just think juniors should adapt instantly when in reality it is quite challenging to make that switch so smoothly so quickly.

He’ll be cheap (which is surprising given his high wraps) and he’s in a position we need depth in quite significantly imo - I would definitely consider bringing him in on a cheap 2 year deal to see what he can do. Worth a crack… the perfect low risk high reward kinda signing imo.
Quick on his feet, compared to whom? Talau??

He's a weaker version of Talau, we need something different to another short, slow and skilless centre. We need pace

Two centres I wouldn’t mind us looking at Billy Smith from roosters and Braidon Burns from the dogs, both wouldn’t break the bank and are specialist centres.
And think both are off contract at end of year.
They can take train and trial contracts. Better than having the likes of Kioa lining up in the centres in Cup instead

If Roosters want Bradman Best to take Billy Smith’s spot.

I’d happily take Smith off them without hesitation. He’s the real deal.
Sorry, but that's a load of crap. He's one of the most injury prone players of all time. He's proven absolutely nothing other than he was a kid with potential who can't stay fit. Even Kepaoa is more proven than he is ..

A train and trial is fine. Prove his fitness and form in Cup then we can promote if he earns it

I'm sure the starting centre for the Roosters would take a train and trial contract with the wooden spooners. If not at the Roosters, Smith will get a full-time contract elsewhere.

Like the Bulldogs, we need to pay overs to attract players. Low balling will get us nowhere.

Coaching Insider , Benji
thought he spoke well and controlled his interview well , I like him shut down the reporters when they ask about Sullivan , said he will not discuss recruitment until a deal is done , very direct , very well done , he is ready to stand up to these knobs who report shit everyday about our club , I say let Benji loose

I think we are all used to a lack of excitement. Those 200 passes were a massive flop this year.
Don’t think Hunt in the equation but Momo reliable.

Lol

Benji looked nervous as hell in my opinion

Didn’t speak any where near as confident as I thought he would

Asked the media to go east on him, mouth twitched, had a nervous smile etc

If that’s what players are getting in the sheds they I can see why we suck

He wasn’t the calm, strong, voice he was on NRL360.

Maybe first interview nerves but still very nervous

And why is it that Benji can be an adult and say we don't talk about player contract's and player's we are going after in the media YET the lawyer who's career is about contracts and confidential information opens his mouth constantly embarassing the club and him self

Why would anyone ever go to his law firm knowing him and people like him are there

It is quite possible and even more probable that the people he hires are far more professional in their work than he is,the company is still doing business so it is highly likely to be the case

I understand the injury-prone point and I wouldn't offer him a long-term deal due to this.

However, watching him play he has proven to me the kid can play NRL and has the talent to be a really really solid centre. I don't agree with your point that he has to prove he can play in the NRL as he has shown he can play at that level. He runs hard and he hits even harder, he'd walk into our starting squad.
