Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I’d easily offer Tom Dearden the 7 jersey and a 4 year deal. He’s unbelievably good who if it wasn’t for Munster would be the QLD 6. He could provide some well needed spark in attack for us and could definitely move to 7 long term his game is more tailored to a halfback anyways imo.

Cowboys apparently offering him 3 years for 2 million at around 660k a year. I’d easily offer him 900k a year over 4 years without hesitation.

As much as people might disagree - the 7 position for us is actually a very attractive option. Our forward pack with Api guiding them around, with Bula coming up and Fainu being looked at as the long term 6 partner. On top of that our nursery for juniors keep providing future talent and the opportunity to be coached by a player of Benji’s stature with the experience of Sheens being around too would be appealing to some. That’s excluding the extra 250k a year with an additional year in security. Don’t think it’s so far fetched.

Fainu and Dearden could definitely give us a halves pairing for the next decade that could cause serious problems.
I think Deardon is an exceptional talent and totally agree to post as he would be a perfect fit here. Fast, sIf only?
Dearden I reckon. The Cowboys have that young gun half on their books as well.
3 million over 2 years is the Cowboys offer.

Cowboys have some cap issues too - I'd blow them out of the water with an offer too good to refuse if I was Benji/Fulton cause he's worth way more than that.
That's $1.5 mil per year. And you want to top that?

It is understood the Wests Tigers offered a three-year package worth $900,000, but the Bulldogs have tabled a more lucrative deal, estimated to be around $500,000 a season.

Why would we do this ? I get that it is 300k per season but we have so many middle forwards and he isn't a bash and barge player.

Dumb recruitment and I hope we fail in this instance.

But if the hold up for Sezer as @cochise alluded on the other forum is true it must be for an 'experienced' halfback for '24 that is over & above what Sezer offers.

Only names that come to mind as possibles would be Chad Townsend or George Williams (if something has changed at Warrington in recent weeks).

Did you just read the headline? they quoted Braith saying he was signed.. The headline was taken from one of the panellists giggling and saying yeah but the Tigers always say it's done.

There you go, and “he loved the CoE” but not as much as elsewhere.
As they say, things happen for a reason, it must be that theres something else brewing behind the scenes.
He is busted..said so before he went to SL...we dodged a bullet there

Chad Townsend? Are you kidding me?

Dogs are not winning a premiership in 2-3 years.
Haha. The Dogs culture is just as shit as ours. They are hardly turning players into superstars. A mate of mine close to those in the dogs circle believe that Addo Carr is a shining light in creating the culture of the place. That says it all. They'll be licking the bottom of the barrel of the NRL comp for a few years to come..
