I heard a similar thing. Apparently $1.6m for 4 seasons so 400k per year.

Jerome Luai is great at that club level. Love the players intensity and I love his work ethic and output.

We seem to have, as a club a backlog of 5/8's but Jerome Luai is definately class. Would be glad if he never plays Origin again because at that club level he would aim for the finals.

Lots saying $1 million plus salaries are not worth it etc. but if we look at how the cap will increase, it is probably what the top halves will be worth by 2025. Even if we pay 100-200k overs, it’s not a big deal considering we nab a marquee player.

Supposedly, he is on $700k now. Real value is probably at $900k. I doubt Penrith can keep him if a club comes in at double.

I just can’t see him signing with us, but maybe the Api connection gives us some hope.

Noting I don't believe the original post especially as Laui has no manager currently and can't sign with one till October so their is no way he has signed a contract. Panthers are having to pay a lot more for Edwards and Liam Martin and have their nsw cup 5/8 Jack Cole who is only 20 signed till end of 2026. No way you sign for 4 years to play nsw cup when your the nsw u19 Five eight last year and their star played in Jersey Flegg and thus yr playing nsw cup. In my opinion Laui will leave Panthers but not nessecarily to us.

Nothing to say that he can’t represent himself.
I’m not sure what that means for being able to negotiate / sign with a club before Nov of your final contracted year; however, there may be a loophole that allows the player to talk with clubs if they represent themselves.
