What’s the duck reference?

Mate that’s classic Pascoe 101.

This is the moment, when talking about (rightful) criticism. Mr Pascoe said it’s just water off a ducks back.

Does anyone know, what’s going on? Who is making these manpower planning decisions? Are the ideas born in Pascoe’s head, who then sells it to the rest of the board? (my favourite) . Or are they the result of vigorous discussion by the rest of the board who instruct Pascoe to execute the plan they have hatched?
And what part does Hagipantelis play?

Right decisions?

Hiring Sheens. It's hard to say. Maybe he did help with pathways. Maybe he exposed some areas that needed changed. Maybe he was required to bring back Benji and the boys.

Getting rid of Hastings. I think it was the right decision. He looks pretty ordinary in Newcastle. The issue was that he had an ankle injury last season and was that impacting his kicking game because his kicking game is ordinary. His kicking game is still ordinary and he doesn't threaten with the ball. Our halves this season and next season were either just as good or better. Hastings and Wakeham are pretty similar players but Wakeham has better goal kicking.

Nofo was the clear cut wrong decision. I don't get why they offered him so much at the backend of his career especially when his fault (a lack of pace) is a big problem in our backline.

This is why I don't get all the whining about Pascoe, Lee etc on here. Who knows what they do ? No offense but I don't trust a whole bunch of you who believe you know what is going on.

When I worked in a company with a board etc I had no idea what my manager was doing. I would have no idea what the CEO was doing let alone the board.

I wouldn't trust someone who worked there either because typically people are just concerned about their pay packet.

Hiring Sheens as head coach…

I maintain my opinion that letting Hastings go and having no credible depth at the halves was one of the biggest reasons for our failures this year along with our lack of talent in the outside backs

This didn't work so was therefore the wrong decision but to be fair we were a mess even though it was our fault. Sheens was talking up Ciraldo and a development coach which was typically corporate dribble talk. Then when we couldn't get him we created a crazy plan that hasn't work out so far.

This appointment was a public image decision that lasted as long as it probably should have.

I'm not sure. Hastings isn't very good. I think he gets talked up as a proxy for talking about Brooks who I think is a lot better than Hastings. I don't see this as a big loss at all. Sure we lacked depth but I think Madden was just as big a loss as Hastings in relation to depth.

I think next season we have two guys that have potential to be good halves. It's going to be rough but I prefer those halves to the guys we've had the past couple of seasons.

regardless of your opinion of Hastings ability which I do not share.. I don’t see how anyone can argue that moving on Hastings and exposing the lack of depth which resulted in having to play Wakeham is anything other than a disaster …

I’ll tell you who is liking Hastings … the Newcastle fans… but no … us bitter twats here celebrating a three win season and another spoon know better
