Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Lol too funny. Seizer well will never come close to Brooks. That’s obvious to anyone that’s knows rugby league and has no agenda. But I am hoping that Fainu is better! That’s also on the cards. For 24 our best halves combo would have been Brooks & Sullivan or Fainu. Combined with Api and Bula would have been a great spine! But Brooks is gone and looking forward to the Fainu / Sullivan combo in 24/25. They will be on fire so very happy with those 2. As for Seizer can see some short term benefit till they are ready and firing but don’t have any high expectations like I didn’t for Wakeham/Laurie and co. They would do ok in the State Cup. Laurie will however do ok at the Panthers with their outfit but he is nothing special. Unlike Fainu and Sullivan!!! 25 will be a great year if no injuries.
I think I read only 13-14 players have been signed for 2025. A lot of recruitment to do. Depth is key. Hopefully the Benj factor brings a few good ones across....

Come close....?

Sezar played in a grand final.
His career has already been better.

No need to get carried away 😂

its a bit of guesswork at the moment but we won’t be doing a whole lot of external recruitment given the development club mantra.

there will be a lot of youngsters retained and/or promoted for 2025. Fa’agutu, Miller, Da Silva, the Laulili’i’s will all definitely have spots, and the likes of Conti, Craig, Willett and Solo Saukuru will be there or thereabouts. Galvin and Mason should be in there as well providing they’re retained.

Olakau’atu will end up here sooner rather than later and I think Marshall will heavily pursue Jarome Luai and potentially Brad Best. I think you’re more likely to see us cherrypick and throw the chequebook at marquees as opposed to filling our squad with off contract talent, instead opting to promote and develop the kids.

If we end up with Olakau’atu, Luai and Best for 2025 then we will be a force. Especially if we can hang onto our youngsters and the core group we have now (Api, Klem, Stef, Bateman, Paps, Sullivan, Bula, Latu). Fingers crossed.

You are correct however I find it very hard to believe we will attract any of them; maybe Ola!

Where I have that before? After Potter, JT and Madge were all sacked right? The same old narrative every time
The common thread with all three was they had no cap to work with because it was screwed before they arrived and had to survive with what they had and be bottom feeders for available players

The media thinks the same.

We've literally needed this for years and now it's happened - with some decent replacements, we're going to another level 2024 🔥💥
16th...?
Actually, one of the most formidable challenges next year is for someone senior who commands respect..Benji or Lee......anyone..to get cosy with the refs, whose subconcious bias(?) costs us 5 to 10 pts every game.
Did it again today...Nofa shld arguably have been given a penalty try(ticked all the boxes)but wasnt even a penalty without our challenge
The 50 50 ruck penalties invariably go to the opposition matter who the ref is
Were entrenched as whipping boys by the NRL refs...maybe we need to spend a bit of our unspent cap in giving refs a gobful in presser ever now and again..an investment in the future!!

I noticed on Friday Benji made a point of saying Sheens is still the coach for the final 3 games.
He's obviously not so can they just be honest and move on. I think it's more disrespectful to Sheens to pretend he still is.

I think the respect shown has been appropriate. Benji has clearly stated he he taking more on and the boss is throwing him into media for experience, while acknowledging Tim in what he has done and portraying him as still the boss is a sign of respect. I think Benji is handling it unbelievably well.

I'm not saying he isn't. Benji's doing a great job.
Sheens deserves all the respect Benji's giving him but at the same time let's just be honest.

You know what? Fxxxk being honest with anyone. The media drill us, give them nothing ever I say. Sometimes as fans we think we are more entitled then we are. We are not entitled to know the ins and outs of the goings on within the club. If we all did know that stuff, we would actually be worse then we are.

I don't care if they tell us nothing. Wins are the only thing that matters.
