Aidan Sezer #279

Still not understandable. We need a genuine halfback who is capable of taking this club up the ladder.
You do understand there is not 1 top line halfback our there to buy as they are all under contract. Plus what top line half would come to back-to-back wooden spooners even if available.

The club has done excellent considering where we are with Fainu, Sullivan and Sezer to help guide them along.
Sezer will Suprise quite a few IMO and that's been our biggest issue this season with no halfback.

I get why people are trying to talk these signings up. You got to have faith I guess. But it’s the same story every year with this club no matter who we sign. Always ends the same

So what do you prefer that the club try something new? or re-sign Brooks after multiple years of shortcomings & no, that's not all Brooks fault but he's had his time here now it's time for both parties to move on. Just wish our fans could do the same.

Understand but I rather go with Fainu,. Sullivan and Sezer than what we have had this year. 100% certain that if Sezer was here this year would not be on the bottom as he can control a game better then Wakeham and Smith.

Willing to give them a shot

sezer wouldn't want to put a foot wrong at 7, tough crowd

Sullivan in a year or 2 will be a pretty good 7.
Club would have been better recruiting cronk to coach the halves Sullivan and fainu to guide them rather than wasting a signing in sezer for 1 year.

@Jedi_Tiger No disrespect but what else did you want the club to do? It's not like we didn't offer Brooks a contract there was on offer on the table which he rejected & he chose to sign for Manly. At the time there was no other decent quality 7 on the market. Sezer brings a wealth of experience & a good kicking game. I don't think he's that great of a player as some people are hyping him up to be but the signing fits along with Benjis vision which is a stop gap older/experienced half for a year or two to let the kids develop.

The clubs needs at least 4 halves as there will always be injuries / Suspension etc.. It's not like Sezer is taking up massive cap space anyway. If we didn't get Sezer and injuries happened we are back to this year all over again.

The Brooks offer was rejected due to a deadline and a decreased offer, and mentioned by himself in the press quotes last week. That ship has sailed we have seen this play out before teddy Moses etc he will go well at Manly.

As for Tigers perhaps we should have simply stuck with Sullivan and Fainu and have Galvin in top 30 and have cronk as a halves coach. We could have saved a top 30 spot on sezer especially given it is only a 1 year deal. If we were getting the sezer from 5 years ago then a good buy.

Sezer is just a holding pattern for a year at best the future is Sullivan and fainuband that does look bright indeed

so you keep wakeham for a year on minimum and back Sullivan fainu Galvin or they shoukd have kept Laurie for utility value. Doubt we keep Mason he will be heading elsewhere

Agree that the deadline was stupid but the offer for Brooks was market value. We couldn't be forced to overpay for him again especially after his 1.1 million dollar salary for this season. His manager got him more money & a longer deal at Manly so good luck to him. He will go well playing alongside DCE but he doesn't have many years left... two max so Manly's long term halves pairing will be who Schuster & Brooks? Arthur & Brooks? By poaching Fainu off them i'd say Manly taking Brooks who seems to be suffering a lot of leg injuries lately & us getting Fainu who was the hottest halves prospect in the market is a massive W for WT's.

Fainu & Sullivan wouldn't be a really good halves pairing, Fainu has never played NRL before & Sullivan hasn't even played 50 games thrusting them together would be asking for trouble. Galvin is also still a kid who is only still in high school so having Fainu, Sullivan, Galvin & an injured Adam Doueihi as your halves for 2024 would just be a disaster waiting to happen.
