Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

In other news, the Stef and Pap to Parra rumour is gaining traction. Any other club you would just brush it off, but it’s us after all. It’s an annual event to have an off season of attention where we grant releases to key players. And sometimes coaches

It’s gaining traction because Read is guessing and sprouting it on 360 so the fanboys are running with it.

Remember this time last year he wasn’t coming which Read started also.

Read also at one point said Api will start looking just before he extended. He has zero clue.

Zero chance he is released & he isn’t playing like a player wanting out.

Papalil'i never wanted to join us and only reluctantly did once forced to honour his contract. He's been decent but no where near his Parra form, whether thats not us using him correctly or a desire thing i dunno.
I wouldn't be surprised if he hasnt been looking for an exist the whole time hes been here.
I’m gonna say I think he’ll stick. He knew our issues before he got here and as we see him as part of our solution he needs to give us at least another year.

Im not suggesting it will happen, but given our record, I don’t think it’s worth dismissing.

it's hard not to feel optimistic with these signings, but then I remember how many false dawns we've had over the last decade or so. Props to the club for getting these deals done!
G you know how much Tiger fans love the off season, and the promise of a new beginning, it’s usually about round 5-6 when our heads start to really drop. Let’s hope that’s not the case in 24 !

Don’t mean to be a Debbie Downer, but don’t see the appeal of Morris. Was a dead set boring player for us with a lack of imagination. Not overly experienced, and that’s what bunji needs, a cool head. I’d prefer we went after a Michael Hagan type with loads of experience. But hope I am wrong, all the best goldfish.
Just keep in mind my recent posts about good coaches emerging from mediocre players. I would say yes learnt more about football since he stopped playing than he did on the field.
I’m backing him to really bloom !!

PS. Michael Hagan is a clever operator and imo carried Big Mal for a lot of that golden SOO run( but of course they did have a few good players.
I don’t think he would be interested in joining us.

If we somehow start 2024 with either Stefano or Papalili not in the squad then pass me whatever petition I need to sign to make sure Pascoe never enters Concord again……

Papalili and Stefano are our best forwards right now at the club and they better be treated like that if they do ask for a release. My mail though is Stefano’s happy at the club, however unsure on Papalili’s status.
Not as reputable as you are with mail but the person I spoke to who currently works at the club said Ice had a tough start but he’s really settled in & believes in Benjis vision. He wants to be here long term.

Only way I'm ok with us letting Paps go back to Parra is if the rumours about Olakuatu are true and he's signed already before Ice is released

I wonder if the leaks will be reduced once Brooks is gone. His manager Moses is constantly leaking stuff to suit his agenda at multiple clubs.

I think he manages Galvin but fairly sure most of the senior players are managed elsewhere now. He can go and cause trouble at Manly.
Lots of rumours given to journos lately that can be traced back around to an Isaac Moses associated player/coach.
