Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Pascoe & Fulton seemed to really like him though.

In the podcast they made mention of it...
Said they've got a lot of time for him and he's a great bloke, etc.

Think he'll be at the club for some time.
He has to prove himself. Whether he's a great bloke is completely irrelevant. Currently he's nothing but a massive liability.
Unless he wants to join our coaching/support staff there's absolutely nothing we should do for at least 18 months

Well the KOE cup played their last round. They finished third last. They were essentially terrible. Jersey Flegg finished last on percentage out of 12 teams
If we have all these boom youngsters where have they been?. One could assume that other clubs have more and better performed youngsters than we have .
Hard to refute cold hard facts.
"Best crop of young juniors Ive ever seen"...Shenius!!
Seems everyone elses are better...

Most of these kids were playing up a year from memory. makes a big difference at that age. But yes, I expected more too.

Just like the NFL. The team needs a gun Quarterback.

This is the tigers issue, we have no play making leader.
Are you saying we have a coaching issue? On field coaching and leadership?
I looked at the team running out to play chooks and most of them belong in KOE.
I agree that we have a lack of on field leadership but that also appears to be the issue off the field with the club's administration.

Thought I would hop onto WTF to see what might have happened in the rumour department.

But I am out of luck apparently today has been dedicated to talking about guess who,
BROOKSY of course.

Seems were having trouble letting go of him, he is gone, wont play again next week, so its over finished no more of him, maybe just to comment on how bad he is going next year at his new home on the the northern beaches.
* Is sick of reading about Brooks
* Talks about Brooks

I think AD is a very underrated player. At least on here

Oh cmon guys, The Bulldogs have shown us the way here.
"josh Jackson" - Trainer.
Easts did it too someone as well.

The guy could have played for 2-3 more seasons but wasn't at that 'sweet spot' phil Gould wanted.

Nofo, surely a club ambassador role. let another junior finish with Chris lawrence having stayed at the club.

AD.. Sorry Demps, great bloke who has a busted knee and won't do top level first grade again.

It’s one of the issues.

Another one is that we only have one genuine elite player. The top teams have 5 or more.

Another is that we have 6+ fringe first graders playing regularly. The top teams maybe have 1-2.

Summary: our squad is weak across the board.

Nofo would make a great water runner

That is not an excuse.
Firstly, if our juniors are so shit hot, they’d handle the challenge.
Secondly, if there remains a requirement for so many of them to enter divisions early, then recruitment has failed.
You can’t have it both ways.
People are saying that we have a heap of guns coming through but ignore their results this year as they are too young to make a big impact.
Truth is, they aren’t any better than what other clubs have and that needs to factor into our recruitment and retention policies.
Bringing an outsider in through Fulton may work out in this facet.

The gun juniors spin is deflection for giving fans hope that things will get better after constant disappointment. There are never any guarantees with juniors - that they will succeed, or be retained.

As always our club talks it up and tells us supporters about the good times coming but as the old saying goes "The proof is is the pudding" and all the chefs at our club can only seem to make "Rat Tart"

100%.
It also gives management breathing room.
“I know results aren’t favourable now, but give us 3 years and we will begin an empire with these young blokes”…
I mean lots of fans on here have confidently written season 2023 has been better than season 2022. FFS…we’ll swallow any old bucket of bullshit.

a weird one
a faint whisper out of the club is that AD could find himself out of the top 30 for next year

apparently no chance of coming back in 24 and the tigers would like to free up a top 30 spot

the tigers are looking at resigning adam for 25/26 with the thought he will transition into a ball playing lock / 2nd rower

this one comes from a different source, so take with a grain of salt
Would really be the best outcome for all parties.
If you try and get rid of him now while he's at rock bottom, it doesn't bode well for player trust or confidence, but we are desperate for roster spots in '24.
Give him the year, take his time to recover and build into a new role in 2025.
If the Tigers can sort this out it shows to me that they might finally be sorting out the player admin side of things, time will tell.
