Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

You'd have to be an absolute muppet to question a player's ability when thrown into a completely new position before kickoff. Zero combinations with his team mates, never played the position in his life, up against big and fast Canberra outside backs.
If anything for Latu to be one of Manly's strongest outside backs in his first time playing there in his life is an astounding effort!

The mole is reporting that Justin Pascoe's days are numbered.

The person they're looking at is Tim Watsford from Supercars.

One of my best mates worked closely with Tim at Supercars and said he is rated very highly internally by the leaders of that business. Supercars have also grown exponentially in the last few years with his guidance.

Best news we have seen in ages.

Douheihi is a tricky one. We don't want be seen as callous, cutting an injured player loose, but paying him out and converting him to a train and trail or similar, which doesn't count against cap and squad numbers, would be beneficial. He'd have the security and support for rehab/recovery and we'd have the roster spot.

I don't have a problem with this if it is possible. You'd think we have the cap space and if we don't there is an issue.

I think we need to sign Seyfarth because our back-up forward depth is horrible. I think the back-up outside backs are pretty good and Sezer as a back-up utility is good.

We really should be signing the best winger in the comp and that player should be a game breaker but we'll get Staines or another kid.

Does anyone really think that squad is a top 8 squad. The top team is full of development players.

In all seriousness I think the following players are the only guys who are established first graders:-
Nofo, Api, Klemmer, Bateman, IP and Twal.
Nofo needs to go to super league

I hope his days are numbered. Although I have zero confidence current management will put the right person into the gig.

If Lobb is signed, he replaces Noffa in my opinion.

An experienced centre replaces Toa.

In my opinion Sezer will start the season with Sullivan on the bench.

Overall, a very poor 18-30. Significant upgrades required.

Only problem I see is we still have the same board and Need to convince a top line candidate to take the job as CEO. , Supercars is a very successful business , obviously run by good people , getting them to the tigers which is an absolute mess will be tough , they run the risk of damaging their own records ,
We need CEO replaced but a quick broom out In the board room will help , drop 3 monkeys today ,t hen a new potential CEO may come in

This is a fair point however at the same time I can't see how he can miss extremely important parts of the season when he is paid big dollars.

The comment above stated that he would be back for the pre-season. I really hope that is the case.
It doesn’t matter if he goes to England or Antartica, players are required to have a set amount of time off. Since he is playing international games till November he can’t train until January anyway, regardless of where he is. I’m sure there will be several others in the same boat.

It's not about being fit. These guys are professional and should be permanently fit.

We need all our players together for a long off season to build that bond that only comes through long hot months slogging together building a bond.
This is more important for us than any other club because we have new halves.
I don't like Bateman missing 1 minute of the pre season.
I don't think he will miss anytime as most international players have there break after rep games and don't return until mid Jan anyway. The club close down over the Xmas break also.

I assume they'll promote him to top 30. I reckon it's a non-brainer decision.
we don't have the spots at the minute mate. we need to shift a number of players and create openings for outside backs, because our current ones aren't up to scratch. Kit will be top 30 in 2025. the first 10 rounds in Cup will be good for him and you'll see him come into the side on a regular basis thru the origin period.

Alan Joyce is available

Heard a whisper the club is looking into Corey Oates. Pretty sure Benji played with him at Brisbane too.

Newcastle and Dolphins will be monitoring him as well.
Have always rated him and wanted him at the club, big body on the edge and can finish a try.... how old is he now???

Yes, the whispers haven't happened with Rua. I know here on the forum we recognised he had fallen in the pecking order and was looking surplus but no rumours as to interest elsewhere.

It would have to be ESL because to be honest his form has not been very good.He is young enough to give himself a good career in the UK if he goes there as he does have ability.
