Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

This is a next-level crop we have coming through. Yes not all will make it but if we have the systems for coaching and development in place & as I said if we can maintain most of them, well exciting times lie ahead.
With all due respect, I’ve been hearing about the next level crop coming through for years. Let’s say for a minute, this time it’s for real. It’s not a system like the Panthers, they’re here at this basketcase with next to no leadership or off field stability.

You've been following these kids since they were 13-14??? Wow, that's dedication.
Or delusion

Amazing how close your prediction is BJ...could be Michael Cheika.
I saw that reported. Is it possible to get less experience in our organisation? If this next crop is as good as they are sold to be we are going to squander their talent with our inexperienced coaches.

Next crop + players who come here tend to drop performance.

We need First graders and to harden up our coaching team.

In order for a team to come from last place to near the top, you need a couple of superstars.
Proven superstars are not available to be recruited, so the only way is to find some potential superstars and that’s exactly what Wests Tigers are doing. Anyone who is a fair dinkum supporter cannot ask for anymore than that and should be riding the wave in anticipation the glory days from 2005 - 2012 will return, not forgetting we were also in a big struggle prior to finding a couple of emerging stars in Marshall and Farah in the lead up to 2005.
Of course there is no 100% guarantee some of the young players we are banking on will develop into the NRL stars we are hoping they will become and of course there is no 100% guarantee they will remain in Wests Tigers colours, but you need a plan and hope. That is what has been put in place by Wests Tigers and that’s all you can ask for in our current predicament.
Marshall and Farah have gone through this exact same process as young emerging players at a struggling club that nobody predicted would be successful, both went on to have long established NRL careers and played under some of the best coaches in the business, so I’m highly confident they have the expertise, have the club at heart and know what it takes to guide these young emerging players and the Wests Tigers as a club in the right direction.
Don’t expect miracles for another season or two, but if we stick to the plan and let Marshall and Farah develop and build the team they want, it’s a massive chance they will produce the on field results all Wests Tigers supporters have long been craving for.

Lol

Delusional.

Farah and Marshall made the 8 how many times for WTs in 12 yrs? 3 times?

They were unreliable and inconsistent as players - for their talent we should’ve dominated for a decade.

The ship is going to sink next year.

At least management will hopefully go down with them.

It’s non believers such as yourself that are disillusional.
You expect overnight success, but have no idea or plan on how it can be achieved.

The problem is can these two guys get it right. I hope so but the noise out of Concord is in my opinion pretty poor around these two guys.

They've both been massive sooks in the past. I hope they can get it right and the talent coming through are good enough to move us up the ladder.

- What generational talent like these 2 blokes has played for so long without bringing sustained success?
They couldn't do it in their career when they were among the best to do it,
Now all of a sudden they'll do it as coaches - With zero experience?

How they were as players means very little when it comes to what they are like as coaches. It's not relevant. Bellamy won't be remembered for his playing days.

They have some coaching experience now. They have a year of failure with Timmy showing them the ropes.

It's a hail mary play. I suppose we are all just on for the ride.

16 Years for Farah
14 Years Benji...

He has a point, Benji or Farah don't know what success looks like either.
Winning a comp as a kid, Doesn't mean you've had a successful career...
Both played for The best part of 20 years and made the finals 6 times and 3 Times in that time.
Seriously,
These fellas are held to such a standing here you'd think they were Cameron Smith and Cooper Cronk.

Farah and Benji have a winning percentage in the NRL of around 50%
That's not success for mine.
The other fellas around 70% -Those are the kind of Footballers that know what success looks like.
But they played for Wests Tigers, not Storm or Broncos. That they got one premiership is a absolutely monumental accomplishment at this club! That's to the moon level. So blessed to have that. Imagine supporting the team if we didn't have 05 and all the fun times with Benji

Finals
Benji 6/19 Seasons in his career
Farah 3/18

In a comp where half the teams made the 8....
More than half until 2007

I've said it here a million times

When hard task masters such as Wayne Bennett, Cameron Smith and Braith Anasta just to name a few speak very highly about Benji, that’s good enough for me.
I’ve seen the way Benji and Farah mix with our fans and the players to be certain they have the clubs best interests at heart and no doubt have the communication skills required.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I have no doubt whatsoever Benji and Farah with the assistance of John Morris, Chris Heighington and the likely inclusion of Mark O’Neill are the best placed people to lead the club to on field success in the near future.

We also need to remember that 5.5 wins out of every 10 games gets you in the top 8 sometimes a little less. The gap between 8th and last is small. The titans in 14th had a better for and against then the Raiders who made the finals. Now we shouldnt be happy coming 8th but next year we would ecstatic
