The decision validates her hurt and taking legal action she did.Good luck collecting
Slater would be considered too "green" by some supporters😀The decision validates her hurt and taking legal action she did.
If you attend one of his seminars that he runs for business people and management he knows what he is talking about as far as business acumen and how to make companies successful. His background in playing, coaching and business would make him a prime candidate for the position but he won't be there.I think Pearce would be a great addition to the board. Not sure he has the required experience or skill set for CEO but would be mad to not have him back involved in the club.
I think he's headed to the dogs.I read that Drew Hutchinson is off contract and gone from the Roosters. Bloke is no superstar but he's certainly covered a lot of gaps for the chooks for a long time and always shown tonnes of ticker.
He'd be a perfect low cost signing (or secondary cap signing now they don't need to wait until round 10 to play NRL). I'd have him in the 14 jumper every week
So you've "adjusted " your narrative to concede Morris is an experienced coach. That is your modus operandi. Two years as an NRL coach, assistant with two leading clubs and great success with the Sharks' academy. He was my choice to takeover from Maguire. All in all, you would be hard-pressed to find anyone who would say or write a bad word about Morris. And then there is you. Don't change Batboy you are always amusing.Only you'd try to put a positive spin on the fact that 1/4 of the coaches are experienced.
(And the experience one isn't even the main guy)
You hang onto that...
Should get you about as far as your "Aren't you excited to see attacking Tigers footy again"
did about this time last year...

?? He’s hardly in the boys club of rugby mate . That’s his big negative in that game. He’s Extremely competent but has a strong personality , which rubbed the boys club up the wrong way .Different position and Fulton has experience in the role at Manly. The appointment has to have experience in RL.
Doesn't rugby have its own boys club?
Good post. I am a supporter of promoting from within and rewarding success. Our junior development staff have done well and I would like something to happen within this space in terms of the GM role. That is the context in which I made my comment.?? He’s hardly in the boys club of rugby mate . That’s his big negative in that game. I think he’d go alright at it . Bearing in mind the Aus RU coach has very similar roles and responsibilities, scouring talent , running a basket case board with agendas , historical nepotism, wealthy influencers and hangers on with agendas , trying to develop talent , dealing with player managers using him as leverage for a better deal .
To me if there was another organisation that’s just as much of a headache as wests tigers , you’d have to say that Aus rugby would be it .
Depending on what the GM Football role will entail within our club, I think an internal progression of Matthew Betsey makes sense.I wrote previously, this is a significant period for the club. We need the new GM to be across our juniors, our junior districts, the roster, to have good relations with the rugby league community and so forth. There is no time for someone to be eased into the appointment. The appointee must be up to it from day one. An internal appointment such as Betsey would have corporate knowledge valuable in the position.
Plus Kimmorley could perhaps transition into Betsey's Pathways role.Depending on what the GM Football role will entail within our club, I think an internal progression of Matthew Betsey makes sense.
Our juniors are critical to the ongoing success of the club and Betsey knows them better than most from this Pathways Head role. He has an MBA plus over a decade's experience at Cricket Australia so would bring strong sports business skills to the role.
How he manages people (personalities/egos) & relationships, I'm not sure but thinking that would be a big & important part of the role too (i.e. Benji & Fulton).
Kimmorley's a coach, doesn't want an admin role.Plus Kimmorley could perhaps transition into Betsey's Pathways role.
Great post. I may be wrong but a big part of the role could involve engagement with parents and young players to get them onboardwitht WTs. Our engagement with the MacArthur and Campbelltown districts has improved significantly. We need to continue but also improve and imo the new GM has a critical role. Someone with knowledge of the juniors to me is a mustDepending on what the GM Football role will entail within our club, I think an internal progression of Matthew Betsey makes sense.

Morris was at the Sharks for two years as head coach during the difficult transition period when Gallen retired. He also had a couple of personalities in the playing group who had to be managed. Most would agree he did a good job and was unlucky not to be retained.I rate Morris - You're turning what I said into something else..
But Morris has just come from a club where he worked under an experience coach as head coach
and 2 experienced assistants - Hornby much more than Burgess (But both experienced)
So including his experience - He was at a club with 3 other experienced coaches...
Now he's at a club where he is the 'only' experienced coach.
BIG DIFFERENCE.
As we know buzz has strong influence on who WT hire.
FWIW, buzz doesn't rate O'Neil at all and is a big fan of chekka.
They also noted chekka has a coaching bug and not sure if the GM role would satisfy that
What are people's thoughts on these appointments
- chekka coaching director get on ground level with all coaching staff
- Simon Cook CEO wests Leagues and WT
- pascoe CCO wests Leagues Club and tigers?
More then that, anyone remember Shane Flanagan at the Sharks.Morris was at the Sharks for two years as head coach during the difficult transition period when Gallen retired.
