10 games at Cambo & LO in 24

Yes they will..they just want a team.
Yeah their own team not a team that started elsewhere before moving to them. Besides as long as the Holman Barnes group own the club, I highly doubt they move to Perth. That’s one of the reasons they didn’t sell to Benny Elias.

Surely both Leichhardt Oval and Campbelltown could get one new stand every election cycle. 16 years and we'd have something to be proud of 🙂 I know LO gets used by other sports - I assume Cambo does too?

Finally - enough was enough.

We were basically playing away games each week with the amount of “home” grounds we had. What a ridiculous state of affairs we found ourselves in.

Good to see the club has listened to the fans. Currently Leichhardt crowds sit 30% higher on average. I hope the club makes a big marketing push for Campbelltown to lift the crowds out there.

We asked for it and we got it. We should all be supporting a successful return to both grounds. Let’s not turn this into a Leichhardt v Campbelltown thing.

Correct. Crowd numbers at either ground are dependent upon a few things:
  • ladder position - if we're winning games people are more keen to come
  • time of the game - day time games are nicer to watch in warm winter sun and easier for out-of-towners to get home from
  • the opposition - some teams attract more fans, ours and theirs
I plan on travelling to both grounds this year with my son. Will stay the night in the area to make it an event. I will pick the best game that plays on a Saturday night for each ground. Looking forward to it already.

The future Perth team is not going to be known as the Tigers … why would they want the name?

Some chance that the Brisbane Easts Tigers join the NRL and wangles the name If the Wests Tigers fall over… but that club will be theirs and they won’t want our history and will no doubt go to great lengths to distance themselves from the Wests Tigers brand … different logo and jersey design…

I doubt there's going to be a Perth team under the current NRL administration, however much it makes sense. Too much like hard work for V'landys et al - they'd rather take the biggest bag of money that's available right now than try to grow the game. They love the Pacific Islands idea if it means the comp getting wodges of cash from the federal government. If that doesn't happen, it'll be whichever outfit in NSW or SE Queensland comes up with the biggest bid.

I don’t follow soccer but how come you reckon they won’t exist for much longer? Money issues?
Football in Sydney isn't popular enough for 3 teams especially when WSW have majority of the territory out west. Macarthur haven't exactly been ran the best & a high profile coach/player basically rubbished the club when he left. They also have the worst attendance average in the league with a whopping average of..... 3,514 when you compare it to the other 2 Sydney teams who have the 2 highest it doesn't make for great comparisons.

That’s on the club too. When you get consecutive spoons, crowds don’t exactly clamour
I think Newcastle proved that wrong.
St George seem to pull pretty well and they’ve been poor for a while.
I think it’s the 12 years of garbage that’s driven them away.

It's funny how you want a team back that was a bigger joke than we'll ever be for nearly all the last 50 years of it's existence.
When I was a kid there was a joke about sending abused kids to live with the Bears because they don't beat anybody.
Now it’s us huh
