I tihnk they've been attacking each other in a serious coordinated fashion for a long time (more so Israel imo) but yeah....like umm..

operation pillar of defense, operation protective edge and the worst one cast lead...still doesn't mean it will lead to WW3 brother...more proxy wars like Vietnam and Ukraine...

Personally encouraged that Hezbollah are showing restraint at this stage

no. There won't ever be a WW3.

There are many factors in the modern international political world different to post WW2. The main one being Nuclear weapons and 'MAD'. Thanks to Jack Kennedy and RFK during the CMC that sort of situation won't ever happen again.

Other issues that come to mind are:

• Golden straitjacket Jacket
• Rodrick's Trilemma
• Weaponised interdependence
• SWIFT messaging sanctions - the pain was real when i was in Tajikistan and Iran...having to carry wads of US dollar bills and not being able to use an ATM

But yeah that's unfort led to proxy and smaller scale wars... israel (USA) etc etc

And even during the unipolar 1990 to 2010s era wars frequency didn't die down neither did proxy revolutionary activity. Iraq, Yugoslavia, Hezbollah, Iraq, Hezbollah, Libya.

And we had the GFC, Covid, currency distortion and debasement.

I feel sorry for the people who live in these parts of the world, in most instances with very little to get by on each day, war hunger poverty is all they have known and have become desensitised to it (doesn’t excuse the behaviour of both sides).

we enjoy the luxuries our lucky country has offered us but there are shitty people among us that find ways to hurt others although we are offered everything, if we earn it and in a few instances even when we don’t.

I thought it was. I tried to watch the first two episodes multiple times and couldn't stay awake for long.

I also disliked this Galadriel, who was shallow. The canonical Galadriel would not have slaughtered the ice troll and finished the job with a cold, theatrical flourish. She would have been deeply saddened that it died rather than showing off. The showrunners an actor completely misunderstood the character.

The killing of palestinians in Gaza is appalling and sickening, but actually legal and acceptable under the rules of war under the Geneva Convention. Hamas hiding their headquarters under a Hospital and launching rockets from civilian residential apartment buildings is actually a war crime. Israel are killing thousands of Palestinian civilians, everyone of them a tragedy. Hamas is forcing them to. Every drop of blood is on Hamas hands.

During the whole Ukraine war, 545 children were confirmed killed (including contested regions.) In the last seven days of Gaza bombing, Israel has killed 724 children, and the number continues to rise. You can't justify
it, I don't care where you claim Hamas is hiding.
Nearly half of Gaza's population is under the age of 18 (hamas was elected 18 years ago FYI), and the rising death toll poses a children's rights crisis in the strip, where 2.3 million live in a roughly 362 square km stretch.

Israel are taking out rocket launching sites and the tunnel entrances. Hamas intentionally put this sites under civilian residential buildings. Hamas use their own civilians as human shields. They do not want their own civilians to get out through Rafeh.
