2023 Pacific Championships

When it comes to coaching I think Mal is a myth.

Doesn't strike me as being the brightest guy.

Crap bench and don't think too much of Hynes as a super sub middle on the bench.

Terrible missed tackle on Neame, but I suppose he wasn't the only one at fault there.

Poor old Nicho, he has been a bit like Stefano in that he has not really made the most of his opportunities at representative level.
Mal is a coaching myth

Munster plays man of the match games when he plays against the wests tigers, mal is not a coach, he's just around for a free ride and getting paid well for it

I’ve been saying for years that Munster is not an elite player in our game.
Sure on occasion he can do elite stuff, on a normal weekend game vs Saints…watch him go. If QLD get off to a flyer due to the pack firing…watch him go.
HOWEVER.
When NSW fight back, he goes missing or starts playing like a dirty cat. When Melbourne get to the big games, he never does enough to get them home. Even at International level in crazy good teams, he just blends in.
He is just a player I don’t trust.

Today, the pack got rolled and the outside backs made a lot of errors.
Where was he?

Forward pass champion today.

Ben Hunt mogged him again today, at the hooker position.
Hunt does him over everytime. That’s why he starts for QLD and Australia.
Harry just isn’t good at rep level consistently.

We were missing a few today just remember .....Cleary Mitchell and Murray for starters .....why teams persist with Cotter in the second row does my head in

Anyone without their head in a hole would agree with you - League is pulsating over in NZ atm…
on the back of the warriors going ok, and now today
- the crowd was piss poor, there may be reasons for that… when they’re talking about the NRL eclipsing the all blacks - something is obviously happening…
Australia flogged piss out of them last week.
They had a very rare good day at the office today.
The crowd was an embarrassment to the code.

Kiwi’s just tapering off for this week.
They lost the league - cricket and rugby World Cup final in 24 hours 7 days ago - and Hamilton is a staunch rugby town.

The fact that Nu Brown made the bench as NZ hooker says alot about their relative depth!

Mal is an absolute mental midget....

It was complacency. Aust had won comfortably the week before and three gun forwards were returning fresh. It was obvious leading up to the first try that NZ was playing with more intensity. It was like watching Origin, only this time Tino and Carrigan were the ones being smashed.

Watching the game felt pretty familiar. The Tigers' were crap most of the time. Then NSW was crap most of the time. Now Australia played like crap.

2023 has been a season of teams I support playing like crap and getting smashed 💩

Teddy's time has come. Walsh and Ponga are better. Not sure if Dylan Edwards is the real deal or if he can only be great when he has Fish and Leota. Seems that any FB playing behind them goes extra well.

Yes complacency was surely an issue.
Kangaroo teams are occasionally beaten, but never humiliated like this.
It will be interesting to see what comes out of this.
Some will likely be finished representing their country now.
We had the bullshit surrounding the anthem a few weeks back and now this flogging.
Is the Australian jersey revered as it should be? Was this tournament just a pay check for some?
Mal and his crew have some work to do.

How good was he when he was on massive contracts for Parra, Warriors and the Dogs??

The middle portion of his career was way below par!
True - could have easily ended washed up but overcame a horror run of injuries and adversity and in terms of a player in the twilight of his career couldnt ask more from him.

This also happens when the Queenslander coach picks injured Queenslanders in the team
Munster has been average all year , Carringan looked like he didn’t want to be there , DCE bombs straight to the opposition every time , Grant did nothing his feet were welded to the ground , Homes , Christ our own Toa gave him a bath , Hass what a wasted spot again didn’t do anything
