We need to aim higher..a lot higher..and get rid of error prone dead wood

It’s either them or replacing them with different fringe first graders.

You can't have a squad of 30 100 game first grade players. Naturally you will need some fluff to pad out the squad. I actually think we have done things a little differently this year by promoting some of those young guns into spots that would have otherwise been taken by a Drew Hutchinson. I think this is the right move.

Luai is a bit different I think. Those 3 were the biggest signings the club has made in years, not monetarily though. We’ve NEVER signed a player from another cub, north of 1 million a year. It would be the biggest signing in the clubs history. Not comparable to the other 3 imo.

Not too sure - what I’m being told is Penrith will not release him early and if he leaves it’ll be for 2025. However, I do know that Penrith have been keeping tab on Simpkin for a while and have interest in him.

An official offer hasn’t even been presented to Luai just yet - Benji has a ruthless recruitment strategy where if there’s a star player on the market available we’ll be one of the teams calling to enquire at the very least. Whether, we take that next step of an official offer well we’ll have to wait and see.

But I’ve been saying it for a while that the Luai to Tigers rumblings have been getting louder ever since that GF.
