That was my point. Could also be the least desirable team to watch gets an extra week of preparation to catch the field.Remember this year it was the Dragons with the round 1 bye. NRL must have a thing about giving the spoon favourites 2 free points in round 1.
Not so sure that it would be deserved.Surely the Broncos start the season as premiership favourites?
Add in the loss of Flegler and Farnworth. Not so sure that it would be deserved.
The GF would have really hurt them psychologically.
Those that played for Australia have been kicked in the nuts again.
They will need top shelf management over the next 5 months to get that confidence back…as it was their strike weapon in season 23.
Gets us off and running, didn’t help Saints but hope it helps us.Remember this year it was the Dragons with the round 1 bye. NRL must have a thing about giving the spoon favourites 2 free points in round 1.
The good players can do it. Nathan Cleary bounced back from a GF & SOO loss in 2020 to help both Penrith & NSW win in 2021.Not so sure that it would be deserved.

But just remember this is the time every year where we start to get excited and hopeful. Let’s just hope it’s a different outcome to previous years. Deep breaths everyone and fingers crossed 🤞🤞🤞FOOTY!
Bring on 2024 🔥
What if one or more matches were drawn? Potentially we could be first come end of the opening round!

If the Tigers did this to their captain, it would be all over the news, NRL360, Buzz, Chammas and Baldy Hooper would be calling for an inquest, royal commission and they’d label the Tigers management and CEO incompetent….but..given its Gus…it’s crickets..surely the RLPA would be making noise…this guy has 2 years to go on his contractSo much for the Bulldogs spirit. STAY AWAY

There have been a few short clips of him on the local TV footy reviews scoring tries for Taree, and he looks pretty darn quick and elusive.Navren WillettName: Navren Willett![]()
Position: Centre, Fullback, Five-eighth
Age: 18 this year
Junior team/s: Taree Panthers, Taree City Bulls, Newcastle Knights Harold Matthews
2023 Age group: Balmain SG Ball (Willett will complete preseason then return home to continue playing for Taree in 2023 while he completes his schooling)
Willett, who already stands at 6’6 (not a typo), has signed a four year deal with Wests Tigers through until the end of 2026.
The first year of Willett’s deal will see him complete preseason with Balmain SG Ball before returning home to complete his schooling, where he’ll continue playing for Taree City.
As you would expect, Navren is a threat in the air and stands well above players his age, while also being a superb athlete.
Willett spent time in the Knights junior rep system where he impressed before returning home. Wests Tigers saw off interest from other NRL clubs and the Sydney Swans to secure Willett’s signature.
Like Jordan Miller, Navren possesses a unique frame and one that can become a real threat through the grades if developed properly.
At this stage, one to keep an eye on for 2024 more than 2023.
Well only if they all were draws and if an automatic 2 points excites you... Well lucky youWhat if one or more matches were drawn? Potentially we could be first come end of the opening round!
It’s not that they lost. It’s the way that they lost. The good players can do it. Nathan Cleary bounced back from a GF & SOO loss in 2020 to help both Penrith & NSW win in 2021.
