I honestly don't get it. I'm far from a fan in that I really doubt he leads us to the finals however it's a one year contract on not too much dollars.

I liked a lot of what I saw from Wakeham last year because he did some good things and didn't cost us much. Sure he wasn't the guy to lead us to the finals but he did his best and there were no other options.

Sezer is a good contract for us. We need some options in the halves.

No matter how he plays, just remember Brooks was allegedly on 1 million to deliver that dribble.

These threads are a bit weird. We've bought in a back up half. This guy isn't a Brooks replacement or something like that. He isn't getting paid big dollars.

We'd be better off complaining about Sione Fainu, Brandon Mansfield or Brandon Tumeth since these guys don't appear likely to offer much over the course of the season.

The thing that people don’t like to acknowledge about Brooks is that he’s played for a mediocre club for a decade. Proof of that is that we aren’t going to automatically skyrocket now that he’s gone. We’re still going to flounder. They joke about how he‘s never played a final, yet constantly try to convince themselves the club is on the brink of something great, when it has not made the finals for over a decade, and shown no signs of life for at least the last 2 years. It’s illogical to have 2 such clear ideologies running parallel to each other.

Sezer .. will be solid for us .. not the quickest player .. but plenty of smarts .. a calm head, a good organiser, good talker, good kicking game .. and a decent goal kicker. His general kicking game alone will be huge upgrade on the Brooks abominable kicking game .. !! (wait till the Manly supporter base rips into him .. hahaha)

As far as Sezer goes, I'm happy to give him a go, as I have said previously, "How about we give the guy a game before we crucify him."

Fact of the matter is that we need halves and if he was Benji's pick then I am happy to have him on board whether it's to play NRL, Cup or just as a mentor for a year, I think he will provide some value somewhere.

I forgot to mention all the kicks into legs or over the deadball line and the short hospital passes or straight into somebodies head just ask Kepoa enough said no more Brooks from me.

As I've said before watch his highlights his short kicking game is very good that alone will improve our end of sets greatly if nothing else
Also he looks to have time to do things which will also help us to produce pressure for a change.At least give him a few games before you crucify him

A half actually talking and organising will be a huge upgrade. Brooks was incapable of either!

Ok, I don't know what to put this down as.

As I understand it, Sezer is signed for 2024 with a Manager Option for 2025. There is no half signing, no "sign him at a lower price", etc.
Yet I think that is the plan, 2024 only and payout/glue factory 2025 unless he demonstrates perfect form.

This thread is the perfect example of how long and boring the off season is. How can you hate someone before he’s even played a game for the club?

He’s the player Api demanded they sign. An experienced half who can steer the team around.

He might not be the next Cooper Cronk, but he’ll be a mile better than what we had last year. I like him as a signing, and I liked the way he came across in the Bloke in a Bar interview. No nonsense, mentally tough, experienced. Exactly what we need.

Not him specifically, but demanded more experience in the halves. He’s also recently said we didn’t have a go-to guy in the halves last year. Pretty damning on Brooks - don’t get me wrong, I thought Brooks has positives, but he didn’t handle pressure well in clutch situations.

(Crazycat go mow the lawn, wash the house, fill in your time until the season kicks off) Give the poor bugger the opportunity to steer the team around and for no proven reason but I reckon the combination of an old experienced head in Sezer and a couple of up and coming players in the other 2 halves and Benji's mentoring, they will go okay.
