The answer "it doesn't change/makes no difference".

That's a reason why were 17th. Maybe not the main reason but BOY that's a disconnect.

One thing we need to remember os that it’s really tough for young players to come in to a losing environment, especially like the Tigers where they have lost for a long time.

Our biggest mistake last year was not having a really simple game plan early on and getting a couple of wins early - when you’ve lost for a long time you can’t start slow.

There are a number of reasons why Sezar, or someone like Sezar, works. This team desperately needs a reliable kicking game. Sezar can bring that. The forwards did their job with field position, but we were constantly let down when attacking the line.

Having an experienced player in the halves is important, particularly when your next most experienced option is....Adam Doueihi. Sullivan might benefit from Sezar, but I actually suspect it's Fainu that might get the most from him. Bud is like Benji- all attack, individual efforts, spark etc. Fainu is an organisor. If we can get Fainu's kicking game up to a Sezar level (career-wise) then we have one of the hardest elements to get right covered going forward.

Our backline is stupid young. The impact that a coolish head in Hastings had was quite noticable. Sezar has similar qualities in that manner to Hastings. Having someone the players look to on the field is important.

Goal kicking- plus.

The bit that seems to be overlooked for mine is the cost. A 1 year deal, with an option, on a friendly salary, that upgrades the position from last season (Brooks/Wakeham).

I don't think Sezar is anything more than a satisfactory half. But the things he provides that are good, are what we didn't have available. Our forwards should put us in position to compete. Sezar's kicking should put us in a position to capitolise. Now we just need someone to provide the sizzle to get the squad from average to above average.

Exactly, it might be nice to have some decent fifth play kicks, we are too used to those headless chook kicks or runs on the final set

He'll bring the experience we need as a counter balance to the exuberance/unpredictability of our youthful (other) halves. This is a similar signing to what we were hoping to get from Anasta. Experience and a calming influence. In a perfect world, he plays the Reynolds role. We won't finish as high or play as well as the Broncos did last season, but it may be enough for us to challenge for the 8. Lack of class in the backline will hold us back though, unless Feledy comes on early or we get someone new at the last minute.

Kicks goals at 82%, so will probably be our #1 kicker next season too.

Correct, the game plan shouldn’t change. Simpkin always needed more time to get up to speed, but the team suffered sim much when Api was off.

Simpkin is disposable. Has a lot of heart but
not a lot else in the tool kit. Barge over tries from
5 out is his bread & butter, doesn't work at NRL
level. When is the last time he kicked at scrum
half, or laid on a good ball 4 one of his forwards?
yeah I thought so. Tallyn is next up, Jake is a
great kid but he needs a new home. He hasn't
added any strings to his bow, coached by Farah

Yeah I agree, but if he had any chance of success it would have been coming in to a more successful team that gave him more time to develop. Just saying that it’s really tough for going guys to come in to a losing team, unless they are freakish talents like Farah, Benji etc

Api was kicking at 85% apparently so maybe not a foregone conclusion, but great to have reliable goal kickers.

Hopefully it goes better than the Nasty Anasta era.

He’s a perfect example of a player who can benefit from being in a good side under a good coach.

Exactly. Let’s just hope they can create a good environment and win early even with the muppets running the club.

I think Bud Sullivan 7 and Fainu 6 will be the halves by mid season though. Sezer will end up a mentor and cover for loss of form and injury which is inevitable.

this is likely the way forward. could also see Sezer relinquish more and more control to Sullivan as time goes on with Latu's gametime increasing off the bench or starting. that said, Sezer could shoot the lights out and we could opt to leave him as the dominant half or Sullivan might struggle for form. a lot to go over but at least we have depth.

But he will save us a he won the apprentice and was going to do a TV show to find his dad.
