10 Great things about Electric Cars.

Fewer moving parts, easier and cheaper upkeep, 70% cheaper 'fuel', better brake life from regenerative braking, REALLY fast, better resale, emissions, instant torque, longer engine life, much smoother, less noise.
Some good points, not so sure about better resale as there is currently a massive over supply of vehicles .
Correct with better breaking , but keep in mind your special over priced EV tyres are paying the price of this good braking stopping the heavy body weight , they seem to get far less life then conventional tyres.
As far as cheaper upkeep , i would need to look into this as just mentioned with tyres costing more and then the lack of ability to have your car serviced at any mechanic thus losing you ability to shop around and save would add to service costs

Agree, resale values are yet to be established. Battery life reduces as the vehicle ages, so depending on how long you own it for your 400 klm range will decrease year on year. The only saving is mechanical, running gear like brakes and suspension are the same if not worse as the vehicles are significantly heavier. Tyres Cost more .

funny though before Covid hybrids were being discounted in comparison to ice vehicles and ev’s were so expensive, not no more.

tesla has poor build quality and the major brands are producing evs for much cheaper, especially the Chinese makers like mg and byd. Tesla has recently reduced their prices.

I'll start of with 1 . They are much quieter then a conventional vechicle. 2. Potentiality less maintenance costs.
Any other positives people can think of ?
That accelerate/decelerate faster, e.g. compare Rimac vs petrol cars on youtube

Some EVs have separate motors on each wheel, so it is "easier" to drift through the turns.

Tesla is terribly overpriced compared to comparable cars. Now that the serious players have entered the market we're already seeing price drops and quality improvements.

Electric cars have a place for certain consumers, but not at the cost of eliminating choice for others.

Probably the best mass market technology out there at the moment is a hybrid. It increases range and provides the benefits of using fuel without the need to charge.

Plug in hybrids have come into the market as well, providing consumers with zero fuel trips over short distances (between 50 and 100km).

For the environmentalists, I think this significantly reduces emissions, but is done in a way that benefits the consumer.

The tyres on the base model 3 are regular 235/45R18 passenger car tyres. Exactly the same as fitted to many cars, there is nothing 'special' about EV tyres.

Do tell - what 'servicing' do you think an EV needs?
