Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Large will most likely debut in 2025, so it's not that far away. But he won't debut in the halves.
We do need competition, but that's harder for us. Players are happy to be patient at the Storm, Roosters, Panthers. Clubs with depth, quality and success. We have none of those, so players want to play here or go to a stronger club.
Out of Fainu, Large and Galvin i tip 2/3 will go onto being in the uppermost elite players in the comp at the peak of their careers.
Yeh, entirely likely.

People need to understand these aren't your regular 'good juniors'. They're pretty special young players, but they will need time.

Almost no-one comes in and dominates before 22 years of age.

The player we should be targetting is without a doubt Mark Nawaqanitawase.

He grew up playing in the Balmain junior leagues, his dad played for the Tigers. If he comes to the NRL and a club gets special dispensation to do so, he should only be allowed to come to us and Benji should be moving everything to make it happen!
No.
I struggle to spell Kepaoa.
We need a couple of Smiths and Jones'
It's a big no to Nawaqaqatinaesseae.

Only two wingers listed
5 centres
I am not too worried about this...

Ok I am worried about this, because the wingers are Nofa and Tupou.

Naden played wing at the dogs and can cover there as needed.
We need solid backline defense if our frontline work is going to matter. The problem is we have Tupou and Nofa at wing, both whom have huge defensive issues. Nofa has improved, but no where near enough.

Olam isn't a world beater but is on a completely different level to who we currently have in that position.

My bet is that if he comes here To'a will still be our best outside back. I think it makes sense signing an outside back from a roster perspective but I'd prefer we were getting a better player.

Depending on what the GM Football role will entail within our club, I think an internal progression of Matthew Betsey makes sense.

Our juniors are critical to the ongoing success of the club and Betsey knows them better than most from this Pathways Head role. He has an MBA plus over a decade's experience at Cricket Australia so would bring strong sports business skills to the role.

How he manages people (personalities/egos) & relationships, I'm not sure but thinking that would be a big & important part of the role too (i.e. Benji & Fulton).
I was on the money 2 months ago! We’d be 2 months ahead if I was in charge lol

Under the new rules clubs can promote 17yos to top 30 but can’t debut until 18yo. So we could promote him in ‘24 deoending when his birthday is & as you said @balmain boy debut him in ‘25 likely as a Centre or even a Winger the way he is growing now.

I'm going against popular opinion atm and think Olam would be a great signing. Our centre situation isn't great atm, Olam isn't a world beater but is on a completely different level to who we currently have in that position. We need to buy ourselves some time until our juniors are ready and i can't think of anyone else decent who is available that we could realistically sign.
100%

We need a top shelf back and Olam is the only option I see available.
we conceded 675 points, which is 25 points or > 4 converted tries per game.
(yes a few cricket scores in the mix. Less then last year, but any are unacceptable0.

Our backline could not hold their own. The work our forwards did was for nothing.
Yes, his form at Melbourne dipped, Melbourne > WT at effort and defense it's a joke comparing us to them.
