Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Right now we need spots for first grade nrl players, not potential in a couple of years, he shouldn’t be in the 30 yet.
If we're not going to even use him... then yeah, he shouldn't be in the top 30.

If he's ready, healthy and we will give him a chance... he has something to offer.

He looks a very solid prospect.
Could be the perfect Blore replacement.

IF... they give him a proper crack.

Olam would be a good get. I hope benji is ensuring that he prefaces any discussions that he'll expect medical retirement if his injuries get unsustainable.

Losing blore will be tough. But Melbourne would hardly take someone like the tumeth or Mansfield

How many on here have actually ever watched Webster Mansfield play?
People just throw names around that they haven't heard before and say they're crap without even bothering to do any kind of due diligence...

In my view he shouldn't be on an NRL contract this year, development contract is where he's currently at ability wise. Highly talented local youngster with a good frame but had a few issues with injury and covid didn't help his development. Reminds me of Brad Takarangi. IMO He's more likely to make it in the NRL than say Tumeth, and I'd much rather keep him over Kepaoa, Nof, Simpkin...

So he's a centre? We need them.

I like that we are going for Olam....BUT in my opinion who ever is in the halves or centres this year have to play consistently and hopefully stay fit and on the field,to many times over the years we have chopped and changed people around and this leads to instability and confusion..
Pick the best in their positions and keep them there for stability all season, that way they get to know each others game and you cant get better than players all being on the same page...eg last year Api made breaks and no one backed him up or knew what to do...
just saying...I have little interest atm until Benji proves he is an NRL qualified coach and the squad he has has reasonable depth, otherwise more of the same...Im still paying my membership and HOPING LIKE HELL we have a better year...
Anyway, all the best to the team, trainers and coaches, have a great preseason and Xmas... GOD bless all of us...

I can give you a as long as my arm of players that have been talked up who never even made their debut. Talking about juniors is text book grain of salt stuff, yet so many expectations get on put them. And no one ever learns from it. They just move on to the next SG Ball or Flegg star.

Sorry guys Olam is cooked. I can identify the exact moment Olams magic stopped. It was a game against Manly . He was taking the ball up in his usual flat out manner & he got BUSTED BIG TIME by Olkau'atu. I have never seen Olam busted like that before. You could seriously see his courage disappear & it never returned & i believe it never will. Bellemy saw the same .Check that game out & every game he played after that. You will
see what I mean.

That happens too. Stuart Broad used to a be really solid lower order batsman. Then he took a nasty hit to the helmet that shook him so much he was never the same batsman again.

Think his been playing with injury past recent seasons. But agree it's a risky swap where WT usually get the short end of the stick

Coach selections and interchange during games didn't help him last year either. Needs a good year playing close to 80 most weeks. Hoping Aaron Payne is the coach to give him that opportunity.

Good post man.
Agree with it all.

Saw him in the trial and a few cup games.
Also some fleg games a while ago.

He's big in person, could see him really filling out even more and having an imposing build.

He's a local lad from Claymore & as you said, I could also see him having a better career than Tumeth.

@Kaito knows too.

Before thinking Olam is a coup from a top 4 side, you have to wonder why Bellamy is prepared to let him go mid contract. When you are behind Reimis Smith in the pecking order, that’s not a good sign. It feels like BJ Leilua all over again.
Two sides to the coin though.

The emergence of Warbrick & Falogo, you simply cannot keep them all.

Reimis is a handy player too.

Their backline isn't their issue.
