Agree he has been an amazing player, but he is currently the 4th best fullback in Australia, 5th best when Turbo is fit. It was a disgrace he was picked for Australia in our latest failed campaign.
 
The more I think about this decision....

We should not go Jerome Luai.
Why? Yes I rate him as a player and I reckon he would do good here.

But, his reasons for joining us would be wrong.
Think about it.

Cameron Ciraldo coaches the Bulldogs. We know the Bulldogs have Burton, Crichton from Penrith playing for them. More then that they have Ciraldo, who is known to work players hard and push them.

If Luai says No to the Dogs, he is saying NO to hard work and hard training. The kind of training that got Penrith to the finals.

Benji, would make a good offer. I reckon Benji could work with a guy like Luai and really up his skillset at 5/8. Yet the motivation won't be there.

Luai, if he wants another premiereship will want to join the Dogs or an established team like South Sydney/Easts/Brismelbourne/etc.

It's in the agents interest.

That's the problem, you start seeing MOU's and NDA's... When it's the same 5-6 player agents you can't shut them out.

I wish we could shut out Sam Ayoub and Issac Moses. I never want to touch a player from either of them again.

Ofcourse the agent is going to leak "hey I have 1.1 Million dollars for my guy" It's a bidding war.

wait. so you think that if Luai rejects the Dogs that he is also rejecting the notion of hard work? how incredibly deluded.

Dogs won't be winning a premiership for at least a decade imho,they are all bark no bite (pun intended)

Penrith are low balling him and Cleary came out saying Jarome is unproven as the chief playmaker.

I think he has a point to prove and plenty of motivation there.

The same was said about Api and he plays his guts out every week.

That group of guys are built different. Total competitors.

I don't think we'll have an issue.

I think signing the Panthers left edge of Luai, Burton, Kikau seems like a good idea for Dogs but in principle won't work. They were taught by penrith unique set plays. Not sure Ciraldo is that good of a coach to emulate the system of Penrith and transfer it simply by copying and pasting

If I am a local Penrith Business and I got the opportunity to sponsor Luai through 50k or 100k increments.. Hell yea.

The sponsorship would pay for itself. So many Penrith fans from the Riff to all the way through the mountains.

I don’t think he’s that good period. Plus, not good vibes coming out of their camp. He’s one guy I’m happy for the club to take a punt on Benji over.

If dogs are chasing Luai, does that mean they’ve given up on Burton at 6? They’d have a killer backline with Burton an Chriton in the 3 & 4.

Maybe he will sign with the Dogs, hoping that they will tell him not to bother coming to training. 🤣
