Our past coaches weren't getting involved with the training drills, it was more like go fend for yourself, going thru the motions type of thingy
Benji is a leader, the lads will listen to him, and with him present there calling the shots, man it's good

I'm yet to be convinced either way on Benji as a coach. I certainly hope it works out. However , I don't think the " Benji worship" has reached the same level as your crush on Fulton.

Yes, Benji can show them how to pass…

Maybe not into row 25 like he did a fair few times as a player.

He can show them how to breakdown defenses which was a significant issue in our last season with lack of points scored.

Hard to say that he ever learned the game, Once he got a bit bigger and older...

I disagree. His ball playing when he slowed down was awesome.

The guy is emotional and he can be a sook but he is one of the best Tiger players I've ever seen. Let's hope he along with plenty of others can give us some winning seasons.

A lot of benji worship going on lately

It’s no surprise to me that Benji is thriving during preseason, mucking in with the boys, making impassioned speeches and running attacking drills. That’s his strength.
It’s the pressure and strenuous engagement that is required as the head coach that I think he will struggle with. Sponsors whining about results, media hammering him for decisions made, supporters bagging his players, administration white anting him and the fact he has to attend functions when all he wants to do is study video of next weeks opponents. It is the responsibility of managing many subordinates and their differing personalities and philosophies, dealing with players when their form drops and trying to solve the riddle of how to get them back firing, keeping an eye on the juniors and showing them the love they need to continue working hard, overseeing procurement and dealing with contracts for future players….and maintaining the relationship with his family.
Tough gig for a total greenhorn.

He would have been better off heading back to park footy and captain coaching for a couple of years, then return to the club via reserve grade before taking over in firsts in his mid to late 40’s.

They may be thinking about mitigating this risk or reducing the blow to benji by putting a senior figure in the GM role.

Ivan Cleary started his first grade coaching career at 36 after 3 season’s out of the game. Just saying.

Coz they had 2 great games out of 27. Apart from those two wins, the rest of the season our halves were very bad.
And you know it 20/40 !

5/10 to start should be our goal. It’s just about doable
