Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I can see some validity to this if the club has tried to move him on without success and don’t see him in the plans over the next 2 years. Push him off the cliff to seek a final contract overseas. There is no window shopping in reserve grade so doing a deal now becomes much more important for Noffa.
That’s a double edged sword. If he’s playing reserve, are the club going to be happy with that amount of money on a player whose not being considered in first grade?

Doubt with his powers(speed + effort) in steep decline ,that Nofa can get back to anywhere near what he was 3-4 years ago
This is totally transparent to all other NRL clubs ...he wont pick up a starting wing position anywhere, particularly if he cant get one with the spooners
Doesnt wish to go to UK
So is unemployable outside WTs effectively
He has a firm contract with us for $1mill over next 2 years
Only has one choice in his mind...do as little as you have to

When I think of that money it does my head in a bit. It would take me the best part of 10 years to earn one million. How I would love to be earning 500K a year. I wouldn't need much motivation to work my butt off if I had the opportunity to 500K a year - just gratitude for being so lucky.

This is a poor situation all round.
Payout figure is a million.
Make him play Reggie’s and he may embark on a destabilising campaign.
They need to trade him away, but at the end of the day, he is arguably still our best winger. He is experienced and a very good finisher.
Whoever leaked this has started a shitstorm.
No he is not!

You are using "arguably" as a disclaimer for something that even you don't believe!

I wouldn’t think they would be doing it with the ‘long term’ in mind. It’s a quick shift strategy IMO. If he stays longer then things may change.

Nofo knows exactly what he's doing he wants out see the writting on the wall, comes back with a chip on his shoulder kicks stones. Then bet your bottom dollar his management is leaking everything, he probably rang Moses and asked the best way to put on a strop.
He will get his way he will be out and we'll carry 60-70% if not more of his freight, Benji won't want him being the rotten apple in the barrel best to just cut ties with the imbecile we all know how this story ends.
I dunno.... He's been told to return to training on Monday so unless he's a no show the whole things done and dusted

cant quote whoever said it
but its not poor man management

benji and fulton have become very aligned on the teams future, conversations have been had with players who they dont see being apart of that in the next 12 to 24 months

the development of tupou and staines is what they will be prioritising, noffa similar to everyone else has to earn a spot

but he is free to leave the club immediately

Sullivan straight up said Benji told the halves they have to earn their positions.

Granted, that isn't "you'll be swatting in reserve grade" but it's pretty clear what that statement means.

Nofo was probably informed of the same statement.
No guarantees
That is completely different to what Chammas reported which makes a few of us question how sensationalised his article was.

Having a plan is good management.
Divulging the details of that plan to those affected by it at the beginning of pre season is poor man management. A good manager would get the top 4 winger prospects together, tell them they are his focus and that the starting positions would be determined by pre season and trial form. You have to make everyone believe that busting their arse all summer will be worth it. You don’t tell a senior player he is out of the running before he’s begun.

Maybe you do if he really is out of the running.

He is our best finisher.
Tupou and Staines are faster but not yet besting him in any other category. Charlie might this year but he has only managed 25 games in the past two seasons. Haven’t seen enough of him. Tupou I’m not sold on yet to be fair.

I’d still keep it to myself and string him along.
I’d want him in top condition to play just in case something happened to the others in the trials.
You show your hand to early, this is the reaction that is possible.

Nofa is a non-defender and has been from day 1!!

Literally runs out of the line to avoid even having to attempt to make the tackle when the pressure is on his flank...

Massive liability on the field - and even bigger liability off the field to team culture with his egomania - poor attitude - negligible work ethic and demonstrably low football IQ!

Finishers are a dime a dozen!

What Tucker said I right though. Nofa is the only one with the runs on the board. Wingers are rarely signed for their defence.

If they were, you'd all be onboard the Hymel Hunt train.

Nofa IS our best finisher. Until proven otherwise. Given a 50/50 situation, I'd back Nofa to score. I am not as confident with Staines, Tupou, Kepaoa etc.

Maybe Hunt though.

Tupou is worse. He is an awful defender. Staines might be on par.
Our wing stocks are shithouse.

Interesting I don't see you mention To'a along with Staines & Tupou. Maybe I'm not the only one that is tired of the arm waiving at dummy half?

Galvin or Doueihi could be the other centre in time.

Tigers winger David Nofoaluma has claimed he is “not a reserve grade player” after being dropped by Michael Maguire.
I can't defend Nofa. I have my theories about him based on history at the club and rightly or wrongly I support the club to be doing their best to part ways as swiftly as possible.
I agree completely with Nofo on him not being a reserve grade player and have previously stated that Ron Massey should be where he starts the season, assuming that he is still here. :ROFLMAO:
