Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

In my career, I have taken a role that offered less money knowing I would be happier for longer.

Afterall, legitimate wages is heavily taxed.....
There’s a difference though. The job Luai is doing only has a short window, so you try and make as much as you can. You might have taken a role for less money, but it’s got far more longevity.

I’m still scarred from the Eagles winning the SB. I had so many multi’s with them as my las leg, going for about 15k all up. Then Wentz did his ACL and I cashed out for about 800 dollars. Oops.

Damn man I remember lol. Hell of a parlay!

A source within rugby league circles has just told me Jarome is 90% likely to sign with us in the next week or so on a 4.8 million dollar deal for 4 years. He also told me we are about 30% likely to get AFB and Dogs are throwing around 1.1 million at him while we are offering between 900K and 1 million
At what point did we increase our offer by $300,000?
Especially since reading the further comments you made re the Phins. Sounds like we are in a market by ourselves. Why are we increasing our offer?

Because we initially offered 1.125 million. Luai won't come to Tigers for anything less than 1.2 million. If Benji really wants him. Only an extra 75K per year he's asking. It will go back and forth with penrith increasing their contract length to 3 years to Luai's meetings with Bulldogs and now Dolphins

a little concerned that Alaimalo is on a top 30 deal if I'm honest. looks to have all the physical tools to succeed but has played second tier union for the last few years and hasn't delivered on what looked to be the start of a very successful career.

I hope the change of scenery and his life experiences up til this point help him settle in and rip into preseason and hopefully come into calculations for NRL selection. best of luck, Solomon.

Seems a strange signing indeed. Guess we just gotta back Benji.

This is a strange signing and a little underwhelming....but pure Tigers so not much else was expected. I like the speed and height factors but how long will it take him to adjust to league? Only signed for 2024 too - imagine he would start in reserve grade.

If we can swap out Noffa for a subsidised Olam, I am feeling a bit better....
