Senior Management and The Board - MEGA Thread

As I pointed out earlier in this thread, the current board have proven themselves incapable of getting the big decisions right. Therefore it's imperative that whomever appoints the next CEO has a broader and more polished skillset.

So Pascoe must stay, for now. A stay of execution where he gets more time to prove himself up to/under the new board structure and if he falters then the new board flick him and hire someone new.

If they wanted some rich guy to run the club, they could have sold the whole shit show to Harry, but they didn't want that so why are they letting this clown do it.
It’s a quasi sale that allows the board to maintain a level of control. At least in the short term.

Hopefully Crawford & Barnier have devised a solution so all Board directors are independents (each with different corporate skillsets & experience).

It will be hard for HBG to relinquish any power but maybe there is a model where they appoint the directors which does not affect ownership of the club.

The next question is, how do we know if the board fully apply all of the recommendations of the report? Maybe they make a change or two and say they listened, but if the report called for wholesale changes then they haven't actually endorsed the findings of the review.

It's tricky as making the findings public is unlikely, but there's no transparency otherwise either.

Well... We don't and never have, we're mushroom members fed BS & kept in the dark

Because they signed a legally binding contract. Unless there was Chairman clause there's nothing they can do about sponsorship unless club wants to terminate the deal to get rid of him
Get that, but who drafted the contract?

Veteran NRL powerbroker Shane Richardson has been linked with a move to the troubled Wests Tigers.
It comes in the countdown to a Tigers board meeting on Tuesday that is expected to pass on recommendations of the recent independent review by Tony Crawford.
Interestingly, Richardson formed a very close working relationship with Crawford when the two worked together at the NRL during Dave Smith’s term as chief executive.
It is expected Crawford’s review will lead to some dramatic changes.
There has been mounting pressure on Tigers chairman Lee Hagipantelis and chief executive Justin Pascoe, while the club has also been reportedly searching for a new general manager of football.
Richardson has been unable to be contacted for comment, but the speculation linking him to the Tigers has been doing the rounds within the NRL in recent days and is gaining
Momentum

Richardson has the runs on the board to handle either the chief executive or GM role equally well if the Tigers decide to head in a new direction.
Richardson is one of the game’s most experienced and successful administrators who has worked at the top level for more than 25 years.
He worked previously at South Sydney in roles ranging from chief executive to GM of football, and was instrumental in building the foundations on the road to the Rabbitohs’ drought-breaking premiership in 2014.

He was also at Penrith working alongside John Lang when the Panthers won the comp in 2003, while prior to that he and Lang formed a formidable combination at Cronulla.
Richardson has also been working as a consultant as part of the Brisbane Tigers’ bid to get an NRL licence.
In more recent years, he also set up a company with his son Brent, Rich Media, to promote athlete brand awareness. Their clients include big name NRL personalities Adam Reynolds and Greg Inglis.

Potentially bigger than any player signing we could hope for imo. See ya Justin , nice finals record, undefeated 👋

Now you’re talking “ Richo” would be a huge signing and someone who knows what success looks like. The type of guy who could really help set a direction.
My only concern is I doubt he would come as an employee, he would want a consultancy which may be too loose for what we really need.

To be a fly on the wall at the board meeting,
eh? Just to hear them harp on & try to save
their own skin. Don't think many of them
are honourable enough to fall on their own
swords (Tony Andreccio) & Co. We've been
a mess for so long man. Change is needed

Pity they didn’t offer tickets, would have been a guaranteed sell out.
Can we send a camera man over to catch the highlights so we can all watch.

It has been widely reported the Holman Barnes Group, who provide four of the seven directors to the Tigers, have given thought to scrapping the board, including chairman Lee Hagipantelis, and starting again.

This was from one of the articles about Nofoaluma. God I hope it's true. Some of those dinosaurs have been on the board for 10-15 years, have made blunder after blunder and never been held accountable. For the good of the club they all need to stand down.

Get that, but who drafted the contract?

I’d be surprised if Brydans are involved. Lee seems like the type of guy who would focus on suing local councils when old people trip on uneven walkways into the local RSL.
