Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I am holding off the excitement as Laui just posted that deal not signed yet and he will let everyone know when deal is done..

This has Tigers let down written all over it..
No it doesn‘t. As much of an egomaniac as he is, he’s not going to announce it himself, he can’t. The club will when it’s time.

Maybe not. Let's agree to disagree 👍
He has a MO for 2025.

Anyway, personally.... I'm with you.
Like to see him stick around and continue helping the youngsters and the club, at whatever level they see suitable.

Everyone talking up Galvin as a future second rower or lock but my feeling is that Benji will have him playing centre. He’ll definitely play reserve grade against men but I can see Benji and Aaron Payne having a chat to play him in the centres at some stage.
Is he quick?

This. He said on his insta he hasn't signed anything yet.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves based on some journo.

Doesn’t mean he’s not going to. I know what you mean when you say don’t get sucked into what journo’s say, but news always breaks in the media before the official announcement. And they don’t usually specify the amount and length of a contract until it’s a done deal. They would have sources. It’s a done deal.

Assuming the Luai deal becomes firm after the review period, it's a massive vote for the "new" Wests Tigers and likely to help us get other quality players who may have otherwise been concerned about joining us because of the constant barrage of negative garbage from the usual media hacks
I’m as big of a fan of Richo fan as anyone, but we can’t pretend he came in and waved a magic wand and got us Luai. Negotiations would have been way down the line once he got here. At least 90% of the job would have been done. He was the one who just signed off on it, and it’s probably the reason he pulled the pin on AFB. Because we had Luai in the bag.

This is Brent reads quote from twitter from 1 hour ago (not sure if it’s been posted)

‘Re: Tigers and Luai. Yes, they are now strong favourites to get him but nothing has been signed and Bulldogs have been told they are still in with a hope.’

Well advanced.

The prior administration stuffed up when they allowed Sheens to vacate his GM of football role for head coach. That was a role he was entirely suited for.

But their decision to go for the rookie Benji was gutsy and already a winner.

50% of a coaches role is in recruitment and getting guys to buy in.

Ever since Benji was fast tracked Api resigned, Stef recommitted without get out clause and now Luai.

The prior administration may have stuffed up in other ways but their course correct to get Benji into the top job is already paying dividends and they should be given some credit for that.

It's not a done deal until it's done. The jounos are happy to post stories like this because if we miss out, then its the Tigers have stuffed up another deal. Sells more papers. Theyre becoming more and more inclined to jump early. Journalistic standards aren't there any more.
