Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Keep it up. You have got balls behind a keyboard. I'm entitled to an opinion, if you'd like to force me to change it or you would like to control my opinion, send location champ.
To be fair, you made some completely incorrect statements and he called you out on it for spreading misinformation.

Maybe you should also think before you post or at least get the facts right.

I can assure you its not misinformation. Three quarters of these posts are speculative.

Latu Fainu is an absolute gun, but he's young and unproven and in my opinion Fainu being on $500k a season is great job by his agent Tartak.

Know one knows how much the Fainu’s are on, it’s complete speculation. Presenting speculation as fact is misinformation…

You said Galvin was getting paid a tenth of what they are which, even if it was 500k is impossible as the minimum wage for a top 30 contract is 150k-180k.

Then said the club was outbidding itself on Sullivan and Fainu even though it was reported that Sullivan had interest from the Dogs and Newcastle and the Fainu’s had interest from multiple clubs including the Dolphins and Dogs…

If your opinion is that signing Sullivan and the Fainu’s was a mistake then just say it, you’re entitled to your opinion. There’s no need to spread information along with it.

It would really top it off if we could secure that young Cowboys backrower Kulikefu Finefeuiaki that they are interested in. I think you mentioned or someone mentioned we were investigating a few months ago?
hoping Ted does have some good news on that front, but the Cowboys are where we should be looking for a backrower given the state of their cap and how deep they are in the position. Finefeuiaki may well end up at the Dragons if Flanno gets desperate, but I'd love to see us have a crack at Heilum Luki. he is a genuine talent, just had some injury struggles.

What happens if all 3 of Sullivan, Fainu and Galvin live up to expectation very quickly and become just as valuable to us as Luai ?
four doesn't fit into two. simple as that. we can keep one around to make a switch positionally, ideally Galvin, with Sullivan and Fainu gunning for the other spot. the rest of this preseason and season 2024, coupled with preseason 2025 will unearth who is best suited to partner Luai at the scrumbase.

I do think Latu makes the most sense in terms of being Luai's partner, but you can't rule anything out. regardless though, it's incredibly exciting and we should be able to swap for players in positions of need given that there is going to be a playmaker vacuum in the next few years with Reynolds, Munster, Hughes, Johnson, Keary, Fogarty, Walker, Townsend, DCE, Foran and Hunt all due to retire in the next few years.

A. Fainu isn’t on 500k for next year B. It’s hardly bidding against himself when knights also wanted Sullivan and dogs, raiders, phins and us also wanted the Fainus

Every player must provide his incumbent Club with a last right of negotiation for a 10-day period from the date of notice that the player has received an offer from a rival Club, and that offer has been submitted to the NRL, that he is prepared to accept.

In order to give effect to this clause:

a) the player must provide notice to his incumbent Club that he has an offer that he will accept in 10 days’ time (subject to negotiations with his incumbent Club);

b) the Club can then engage in contract negotiations with the player for a period of up to 10 days, or the Club may waive its rights in writing (at which point the player is free to sign with the rival Club);

c) the offer from the rival NRL Club must be an official offer and submitted to the NRL Salary Cap Auditor (the contents of which will remain confidential, but the NRL Salary Cap Auditor can provide verification to the incumbent Club that an official offer has been received). The offer must remain open for acceptance for a minimum of 14 days, and for at least 48 hours beyond the expiry of the 10-day negotiation period with the incumbent Club. There is no requirement for the player to disclose the terms of the offer to his incumbent Club

d) at the expiry of the 10 days, the player may sign (or reject) the offer from the rival Club
Also remember that the knights are paying cogger $500,000 to play reserve grade! They’re not slashing their wrists like u lot.
