#13 Lock

Read an article on him once cant recall if he was still playing or had retired, it was on the sacrifices hed make just to walk let alone play, up at 3am every night icing his knees to reduce inflammation...I think at the end of his career he wasnt training at all....one tough hombre
OG franchisee for Guzman Y Gomez

That was definitely while he was playing.

…and could drink.
There was a time where I saw him pissed more than sober lol.

Has he ever “brained it” in any grade?
He came with a big rep but I don’t think I’ve seen him get out of a canter?
Also I don’t think the club has managed him well to many times picked in the 20 for NRL and not getting enough game time. He needed a full year in Cup playing full games and only picked for NRL if his form deserves it and we need him in the 17.
across Harold Matts and SG Ball it was clear he was a class above. SOO 19s also proved his quality.

agree with you on the fact that he was dicked around last year, hence why preseason is so important for him. huge few months coming up.

Old school locks it's a tie between Ron Coote and John Raper.
I had a conversation with Raper in his declining years and I mentioned that I was a big Ron Coote fan.
Raper said "yeah, but he had to play 2nd row for Australia because I was the better lock". Bit of a long term rivalry there.

He is evidently a smaller frame/height than Taumalolo - but if you are seriously asking if he has any footwork at the line you must have NEVER watched him play???

Fast twitch muscles & extremely light on his feet with excellent footwork for someone with his muscle mass!

Pole is a beast. Though he is a modern day front rower not a lock. His foot work at the line, defensive contact and tackle busting ability is what we need in our pack. That said, happy for him to start at lock to give us a stronger base to build a game from.
Long term though he and Steff lead our pack.

Agree 100%

Not saying he's a natural lock - but if you haven't seen his footwork - you haven't been watching! @Enmore_Tiger

He doesn't have the ball-playing ability to be an IDEAL lock - but neither does Twal etc so it is where he best suits the team for now!

I was referring to his footwork at the line, some of his busts though the centre this year I had thought a bit like Taumalolo.
