Cricket Season Thread

yeah of course you are right, must be England they dont play, I know they dont play two of the top teams
I checked a few things out with this. Basic rules say 3 series at home and 3 away count towards WTC. So it depends on who you are playing in those series and how many games you play, between 2023 - 2025. You are correct in saying that SA have an “easy draw” as such, they do not play Oz and England, but they don’t play many games (12) as they have reduced their series number of games from 3 to 2 per series, and they are now not sending their best squads on test tours, both those decisions are to focus on T20. You can play as many tests per series as you want but the ICC rate them in some magical way.
Just another way to make it difficult for the fans to follow.
Here’s a link:

And here’s the draw:

So it’s just about the sandpaper? Was it your ball?
Yep, little turd jumped my fence and took it.
Only the sandpaper? Do you know other instances where the germ cheated or something?
Never faced the music and stood behind his wife's skirt.....what a weak mongrel of a bloke IMO.

Cant understand the intensity of your hatred ?
Opening the bat in tests is one of the hardest positions and he averaged about 45 over a long career and averaged 50 in his last series .FYI the rest of the batting order vs Pakistan
Marsh 86 ,Labuschagne 41 ,Smith 39 ,Khawaja 37 ,Carey 32 and Head 16 .
In white ball cricket his stats are even better and played a major role in winning 3 World cups (2 ODI and 1 T20)
With regard to not facing the music ? He copped a 12 mth suspension and a lifetime captaincy ban .Smith copped a 12 month ban and Bancroft a 3 myth ban .
These sanctions were by far the heaviest ever handed down for ball tampering
There is a very long list of players from other countries getting sanctions ranging from warnings to 6 matches.
Oh and by the way he was probably enraged at Sth African team management openly mocking his wife in the days prior to the incident .Not an excuse but thought Australian heiracy could have complained about this .
When I was young I was reasonable at sports requiring good "hand -eye " ball coordination but even so admired those whos skills were way way ahead of mine .How were you ?
The reaction of the crowd and the opposition to his last day of Test cricket indicates that not many agree with you .Give it a rest !

I’m not sure where Warner stands in the popularity stakes, but my impression from visiting overseas cricketing forums is that he is one of the most unpopular players in international cricket among overseas fans.

The dislike for Warner in England and India especially turns to derision whenever he visits those countries to play tests. He has played 19 tests in England for an average of 26.5, while he has played 10 tests in India for an average of 21.8. He has never scored a test match century in either country.

It is little wonder that the fans in England and India regard Warner as a “home track bully”.

Unfortunately, his form at home in recent years has been pretty poor so it was good to see him go out the way he did against Pakistan, looking more like the Warner of old.

Give it a rest? If you don't want to read it (you know it won't be a post kissing his Khyber) and aren't capable of handling someone having a differing opinion of him than yours, the ignore button is there. Easy.

As far as Warner supposedly facing the music, your definition of that is different to mine that's for sure. Facing the music is owning up to your actions when you get caught being dodgy, admitting it like a man. Not constantly denying you ever did anything wrong and playing the victim. Those are the actions of a maggot.
Davey the maggot, that's his legacy👍.

He is/was routinely sledged by Australian fans during home test matches too. Definitely the least popular Aussie cricketer I can recall, daylight second and the Marsh brothers third.

Time to welcome the Windies.
Matt Renshaw returns to our men's national squad, with Cam Green named a certain starter for the first Test in Adelaide.

He doesn't average above 35 anywhere outside of Australia except for South Africa and Bangladesh.

The argument is definitely there that he has ground out a career reliant on strong performances in home series.

Seems our team for 1st test vs Windies in Adelaide
1.Khawaja
2.Smith
3.Labuchagne
4.Green
5.Head
6.Marsh
7.Carey
8.Starc
9.Cummings (c)
10.Lyon
11.Hazelwood
With Renshaw and Boland carrying the drinks
Barring injuries that is the team .our 3 quicks are not playing the ODI Series so I assume they are fit for 2 more tests .If any of them get a niggle Boland might get a run .
Note no Bancroft but not surprised

How do you go with Greg Chapel, Sachin Tendulkar, or Mat Lodge?

I watched the Sydney sides play T20 tonight. Smudge opened with a golden, Davey scored 30 odd, but SOK stole the show with 2 wickets in an over to turn the match in the pink side’s favour. He got another wicket and MOM in what is his last match as he is retiring. I know he did something unsavoury and inexcusable, which he was penalised for and remorseful for in my opinion. I would like to say he was a good cricketer and one of my more favoured players to watch. Thanks for the cricket memories SOK. It’s a shame you had to be a knobhead too.

Greg Chapel?😂
You chastise others for supposedly not knowing anything about cricket🙄

Chappell didn't cheat, definite disgusting low act he orchestrated but not cheating. Class batsman.
Tendulkar got caught cheating did he? I didn't know that. When was that? Class batsman, in the conversation as best ever according to most pundits.

Lodge is just a germ, would've been spending plenty of years behind bars if I was the judge on that New York case.
