Justin Olam #281

Well that wouldn’t surprise, Bellamy runs a tight ship and the ease with which he’s been traded tells me there’s more to it than a form lapse !
Look can we stop with the Bellamy mythology here.

Yes Craig Bellamy runs a tight ship. He also identifies juniors and talented athletes.
Craig and everyone else at Melbourne know they need to get more front rowers. They also know that their backline is full and Melbourne can train a center or wing to tackle and hold the line

^We can't!

Bellamy was in no rush with Olam. We could have easily seen another team jump in.
Bellamy simply had to get more power up front and he offered us a good center for a powerful forward.

Hey BZN
Your correct our team is the West Tigers, I have followed 2 Teams my whole life the Balmain Tigers and the West Tigers.
I never used to cheer “go the Balmain Tigers”
It always has been “go the Tigers”
and that will never change for me.
Wests, WestS mate... It's plural... Only been. 24 years

The only people who use the word 'woke' are uneducated far right hillbillies. Such a terrible word, a word that's been further hijacked and meaning changed by those who don't understand it, and not a word we want associated with our club...

But on Olam, I'm sure he'll enjoy playing for the Tigers. It will light up a spark in him, determined to prove those down south of the border wrong!

Lighten up pal.

Thankfully, I'm not a fan of far right hillbilies perhaps I should've associated our club as being Righteous . ;)

Justin Olam with a chip on his shoulder is a pretty scary thought for the entire league, including our boys at training.

Fair comments CC but let’s review again down the line. I hope Olam has a cracking season, but at present, I have a little doubt in my mind.

I was talking to a really decent and respectful bloke a couple of days ago who is 1/2 PNG and 1/2 English.
He was born in PNG, still has family there and has been back a couple of times.
He said corruption in the Govt. was claimed to be a real problem.
As much as I would like to see the fanatical PNG supporters have their own team, I hope the NRL never has a team in Port Moresby because of the corruption, that is at least until some sense of order and genuine decency is attained there, with the locals being given a fair go.
That point has been valid since Whitlam forced them into independence back in the 70s. The story is the same in poorer countries all around the world, the polis and Rich get richer but the poor get poorer.
Try and find out the allocation of funds for the massive mining and gas companies up there. None of it reaches grassroots , not even improved infrastructure . Then law and order disintegrates .
Most of the PNG people ( both govt and private sector) that I knew, would prefer to be a state of Oz with proper police and development. I know it will never happen but the current situation shows no signs of abating.
Albo is simply putting a lollipop in front of their PM and he couldn’t give a stuff about putting some provisos on it to try and generate some basic things for the average Papua New Guinean.
Rich in resources but so poor in care of its people.

In fairness, Olam will only do damage if he is given space by the halves.

If the defence is in your face on every play, it doesn't matter how good you are.

Halves will be the key off the back of a good platform by the pigs.

That's the big promise of the new season.
Wests Tigers will have halves.
Halves that create space and time.
Hallelujah!!
