Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If he does he better be ready. Lot more pressure compared to trial games, and given he’s got no experience against men, doesn’t fill me with confidence. However, I hope I’m wrong and he does kill it, but most 18 year olds don’t.
If he is a superstar … which they keep saying he is , then he will be the exception not the rule .
listen to the messaging mate . Is all I’m saying . Seriously …

And when it happens you generally know well in advance because the guys are just untouchable in lower grades. E.g. Suaalli, Ponga, Folau, GI etc. they do tend to be outside backs a lot-hopefully we can add Galvin to that list but I’m not convinced yet.
I’m glad to hear he’s killing it at training, but let’s be honest he’s got no experience against men yet. Hasn’t played Cup to at least get an understanding of what’s to come when he makes it to firsts, but training and playing are two different things. It’s a big ask of someone who’s got no experience against men to come in and kill it.

You have your view I have mine. Let’s leave it at that.

I agree. You do get those rarity players who seem to make the jump without skipping a beat. But it happens maybe once or twice every few years.

So if by a slim chance he gets picked, what position
Fullback, no
Wing, no
Centre, not with no shoulders.
6 or 7, no chance.
And even less chance of 8 to 13.

It’s well known that Benji intends on selecting his team largely based on training attitude and performance.
Age or experience won’t be a major factor in his decisions.

But he was matured and his body was FG ready. Galvin’s isn’t.
Jesus Christ ! Wtf are you guys even arguing ? I’m literally saying if he’s training with the firsts , it means he’s right there . All I’m saying is if he’s got the skills don’t be surprised if he’s there round 1.
Sorry but unless you’ve got some insight into what Galvin benches , how he goes in wrestling drills , contact drills etc you have as much idea as I do .
How do you know what Galvins maturity is like ? Nofa is 30 and is the most immature dude in the team .

So you think Bula is a top 10 in NRL match winning superstar fullback based on 2023 ?
If you are right there should be no doubt Wests Tigers finish in the top 8 in 2024.
As I said I hope you are right.
Teddy was RLPA Player of the Year and we didn't make the 8. It's not all about 1 position.

Plenty of young players have gone straight into 1st Grade without previously playing against men.
The old saying if you’re good enough, you’re old enough.
I’m sure Benji hasn’t made up his mind over quite a few top 17 positions for Round 2, but the point myself and quite a few others are making is there has been numerous reports that Galvin is breaking off and training exclusively with what looks the preferred top17 at training, that is generally a heads up that he’s being rated higher than quite a few others also in our top 30 at this stage.
That can change, I’m sure the trial games will answer quite a few questions.
Tim brasher was just 17 and he killed

Set plays went out in the early 2000’s when players started to learn how to run proper lines and vary their shape. You won’t see many sides with set plays, eyes up footy is the coaching philosophy. Momentum is the key to creating space.
I thought the 3 way run arounds using Klemmer, Twal & Seyfarth were cutting edge attacking footy!!!

And unless they kill it straight off the bat regardless of age or experience, that will be a very big gamble for 2024. It’s a lot of pressure to put on these kids when they’ve got no experience.

Would love to see the tigers go after the may brothers , the two could really improve our backline and we could use the prop if we are still looking to off load klemmer
Klemmer won’t be going anywhere, as for the May brothers the only one I’d be happy with is Taylan. Terrell I haven’t seen a lot off and Tyrone comes with a bad reputation. I wouldn’t want all 3 here.

He was playing against butchers, bakers and candle stick makers.
Brings back the memories...

I believe Meninga and Daley owned the butcher shop.

Chris Johns - Tony Currie - Brett Kenny & Mick O'Connor made great sausage rolls at the bakery

And Florimo - Ettingshausen - McGaw & Farrar were criminally underrated scented candle stick makers
