Very good players who had day jobs and didn’t train 9 to 5.Really ?? Mal Meninga , mark Mcgaw, Et , Daley , Chris Mortimer , Florine, Chris Jon’s , Michael O’Connor , Hancock , Fittler tery hill , Kevin iro , etc etc all seemed pretty good players to me at the time !! 😅😂🤣😁
Who said the halves ?? Talk is he may get a run in the centres or even on the wing .. plenty of super talented kids that ended up having 10 year plus NRL careers debuted on the wing just to get a runRemember Galvin couldn’t even make the Harold matthews side in the halves. You guys want to start him there this year, good luck!
One thing I will say is while TDS probably wouldn’t have gotten his debut had Api not gone down with injury, he didn’t do too bad when he made his debut. Not perfect and obviously has things to work on, but he wasn’t crap either and actually did look threatening at times. Although this year I think he’ll spend at least 95% of the season in Cup unless we get hit again with injuries.I hope he doesn't play NRL in 2024 - because those sort of debuts normally occur when the team is struggling or out of options due to injury/rep selection (like TDS).
Or we blood them in the last rounds when out of contention for the 8...
It is a nice gesture to up and comers - but reflects where the club sits and is not the ideal environment to debut!
Ivan Cleary is a big fan of Tyrone May. Let Penrith have him please. I'm not taking Terrell and Taylan if it means Tyrone has to come. He is trouble on and off the fieldGiven any deal would be for 2025 - you are literally claiming Tyrone May is BETTER than:
Luai
Fainu
Sullivan
Galvin
He is a crap player and a worse person!!

Have you ran this past Benji? 😅😂😅🤣 just kidding mate.. who knows what will happen, personally I’d like to see him or Latu get run in the centres especially if Bud can fire in the halves with Sezer .. I just want to see the best 17 consistently picked .. the best footballersFor me Galvin should be spending time in reserve grade before getting that call up. Hasn’t even played Flegg and hasn’t gone up against men yet. He’s got potential and I think he’ll make first grade at some stage. But playing him round 1 (well round 2 in our case) is a gamble that shouldn’t be happening yet.
Tyrone May almost lost the 2021 grand final for penrith when he dropped the ball when he came on. In 2020 GF he conceded 2 crucial tries on his edgeGiven any deal would be for 2025 - you are literally claiming Tyrone May is BETTER than:
Luai
Fainu
Sullivan
Galvin

And ? I’d back every single one of those players to still get a run in the outside backs today .. every single oneVery good players who had day jobs and didn’t train 9 to 5.
Latu and Sullivan I think will be battling it out for a spot in the halves. Sezer I think will have one given he’s experienced compared to the rest of our halves. It’ll be interesting to see our first lineup when the time comes.Have you ran this past Benji? 😅😂😅🤣 just kidding mate.. who knows what will happen, personally I’d like to see him or Latu get run in the centres especially if Bud can fire in the halves with Sezer .. The sex offender thing is a big issue. Even if he was a good player, he's a culture problem we don't need after a rebuild. Dragons can take all the troublemakers, that's their culture. We got rid of Musgrove and from memory I don't think anyone on our team is a dickhead off the field. When Tyrone May's sex tape scandal was revealed in early 2019, penrith were 16th after 10 rounds. It has a massive impact on a team that was full of young stars at that stage as well as experienced guys like Maloney. Let's not take a step backUr entitled to ur say , I still think they are better than what we got , and lay of the sex affender thing , if the nrl register them , then we may as well get them rather than another team
They played nearly 40 years ago in a semi-professional era. Go back and look at the frame on Mick Neil 😂And ? Your point is ? I’d back every single one of those players to still get a run in the outside backs today .. every single one
I think Sezer might surprise a few people , he has always been a solid first grade footballer and might just be perfect for what this young team needs this year.. a bit like James Maloney at the PanthersLatu and Sullivan I think will be battling it out for a spot in the halves. True , mick was a tough little scrapper though that really knew how to tackle around the legsThey played nearly 40 years ago in a semi-professional era. Go back and look at the frame on Mick Neil 😂
Also a bit like Mitchell Pearce for the KnightsI think Sezer might surprise a few people , he has always been a solid first grade footballer and might just be perfect for what this young team needs this year.. a bit like James Maloney at the Panthers
I didn’t mean to lessen what those players did at all. They were greats of that era.True , mick was a tough little scrapper though that really knew how to tackle around the legs
Not in 89 when Brash debuted!Very good players who had day jobs and didn’t train 9 to 5.
Disagree. Warriors right side last year was dominant close to the line through perfect execution of a 2 option set play.Set plays went out in the early 2000’s when players started to learn how to run proper lines and vary their shape. You won’t see many sides with set plays, eyes up footy is the coaching philosophy. Momentum is the key to creating space.
I could be wrong but I think Sirro and Mal were probably exceptions. I thought Super League was the start of the era where everyone could give up their side hustle. Not in 89 when Brash debuted!
They were already fulltime footballers then!
Rest assured Siro and Mal weren't coppers in 1989!!
