I have been to well over 50 live shows in my time. First band I ever saw was RHCP when I was 15 at the SFS. Pretty much got hooked on live music from there. Some of the highlights over the years have been Green Day, Kiss, GNR and U2

Some things that didn’t seem like a big deal at the time, but I’m glad I was there
- Seen Oasis on their last tour
- Saw Van Halen. It was their first show outside of North America in 15 years. Then Eddie passing away, made it a once in a lifetime opportunity
- Saw Aerosmith. Since the 70’s, they have only ever been to Australia twice. So I was happy to catch them on their second go round
- I saw Soundgarden at Soundwave. Didn’t mean much at the time, but Cornell’s death a couple years later now makes it a good memory

Who have you guys seen? What’s coming up? I have Blink 182 next month and Live/Incubus in April

Was lucky enough to see Chris Cornell on his Soundbook tour in 2010, that was one amazing night just him and his guitars. First live gig was Ian Moss on his solo tour. Apart from that Elton John, Ed, James Blunt and Snow Patrol

Man I would have loved to see Soundgarden. Chris Cornell was the man! LoveKim Thyall’s guitar playing too.

Not to mention that Soundwave weekend was 40 degrees on both days.

I’ve seen Elton a few times. One of those times was being billed as a solo tour. I was like ”I know he has had the same band for decades, maybe he means he’s playing with other musicians“. Nope, just him and his piano for three hours. Was a good show.

One of my biggest regrets was not seeing Prince on his piano and a mic tour. He played the Opera House. That was in February. He died in the April.

Got blink next month too. But worried about what they will play but is what it is.

Saw them do the carousel tour at horden and I’m sure at a BDO but a lot of them blend into each other. I don’t know how many shows I’ve seen but standouts would be Pantera at SEC on great southern trendkill tour. It was insane I never felt anything like it. the great thing is the bands I loved in tbe 90’s are touring again. Saw Sepultura recently, not the same as the first time but still fun. Fear factory and machine head in March. Matchbox 20 and Milky Chance in Feb. Cold play later in the year so need some more acts to announce before summer.

I was lucky enough to see James Brown at Good Vibrations in '06. He passed a couple of months after that.

I'm probably a bit older than a lot of you blokes, but I did love a live gig back in the day. Some that come to mind,
Rolling Stones twice, ACDC twice, Fleetwood Mac, Rod Stewart, The Angels, Aus Crawl, Richard Clapton, Jo Jo Zepp and the Falcons, Red Gum, Slade, Icehouse, Crowded House, Sunny Boys, Savage Garden, The Divinyls, Cold Chisel , Mentals, Midnight Oil just to mention a few. Pretty much any Aussie pub band of the 70's. Good times

I saw Soundgarden a number of times. 6 or 7 times. Saw Chris Cornell 3 times when he was out here supporting Linkin Park, 4 times on his tour in 2011 and twice when he was here in 2015. I also saw him with Audioslave.

He was also part of the best show I ever saw which was the pearl jam 20 shows at Alpine valley in Wisconsin in 2011. The middle of each show had a temple of the dog set which I still tear up about just thinking about.

I have seen Pearl Jam 20-30 times in 5 states in Australia along with 2 other countries.

Favourite live bands
Pearl Jam
Soundgarden
Dropkick Murphys
Audioslave
Violent Femmes

I would be well into the multiple 100s for live shows.

Seeing art alexakis and then slash the following night next month and will also be at the live/ incubus show.

I have also seen live/ ed Kowalczyk over 20 times as well.

Metallica would be around the 25-30 times as well.

Seeing a lot of them now on days of the green. Icehouse next month with noiseworks. Wish I could’ve seen them in pubs.

30 times for PJ? I thought I was a fan. Bucket list is one of their Italian shows

I first saw them in 95 at Eastern Creek and have done multiple shows every tour since then plus shows overseas.

The Italian and South American tours are both bucket list stuff for me.

Geez and you watch footy in your spare time Cochise. 🤣

Out of interest, is Art Alexis the frontman for Everclear?

They can add up if you do interstate shows. My cousin saw every Australian show on Metallica’s Death Magnetic tour in 2010.

Yeah he is, saw Everclear last year. He is out here doing a tour with the lead singer from Wheatus next month. Playing the crowbar and the ettamogah.

I met Metallica at the Melbourne show on that tour. It was a massive tour that included 6 Sydney shows.
