Exactly right - the earlier comment re the money in sevens - yes, it’s a bit of a joke, if it doesn’t mean that they are of lesser value. Most of them are playing sevens as they were deemed too small for 15-a-side. Maurice Longbottom was deemed too small Souths NRL but is an exceptional sevens player. This isn’t the case with Lancaster though. Not a bad gig from janurary-may, 5 months work
travel the world. Really rate Darby Lancaster
Have you seen the state of Australian Rugby? The players are shit.I think there is little doubt that exceptional ball runners such as Darby Lancaster and Max Jorgensen would make a big impact if they returned to play in the NRL, however Rugby Australia also rate them as their future and would be paying them quite well, so they wouldn’t consider making the switch to NRL unless they were paid very well.
Like anything it’s not worth the risk salary cap wise unless these type of players would sign for a reasonable cost to eliminate the risk.
The Tigers stuffed that not John Grant. Ask the recently departed Nofa (years too late) and the Medical Staff what went wrong there. He was here during one of the most disappointing seasons we’ve ever had.
Hard to be developed when the ship is sailing off a cliff.
The team is crap - there’s still individual players that would do really well in league.Have you seen the state of Australian Rugby? The players are shit.
The Kiwis are guns.
No way. Save a extra 550-600k a year with him gone. Surplus.Douhie won’t be around next year
Parrot?Another one of the Parrot's special projects.
Alan JonesParrot?
I doubt it, do an estimate on what the players we have signed for 2025.With Noffa and probably AD gone in 2025, that shoud easily give us enough space for another marquee signing.
I thought it was that human trash, but why parrot?Alan Jones
He’s been sitting behind a microphone, bloviating for the last 30 years? Idk 🤷🏻♂️I thought it was that human trash, but why parrot?
AD $ would have been factored into luai I assume. With Noffa and probably AD gone in 2025, that shoud easily give us enough space for another marquee signing.
Nah, not my colour or style Tucker
I thought that was Tucker?Nah, not my colour or style Tucker
He’s too slow for centre. If the club is serious he won’t be here.No way. Save a extra 550-600k a year with him gone. Surplus.
He needs to train at centre because 5/8th isnt his position.
He’s a super rugby player that they called in due to injuries. He also played Sevens last year, so was an easy fit.I'm not sure we are so desperate we need to start searching Rugby sevens for players.
Agree, but he’s actually not a winger, they just play him there due to speed. He’s a centre / fullback. The guy Big Screen has been talking about is a quality athlete and been closely looked at by a few NRL clubs for a few years now. The stumbling block is the ARU are paying him decent coin and most NRL clubs would not risk paying him the same coin as he is an unknown quantity as far as grade NRL. Also wingers you try and fill with mid to lower tier contracts.
If Benji is hoping to play an expansive attacking style game having two speed machines on each wing would be the way to go. Alex Johnson for Souths is pretty handy in making the most of a overlap
