Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Wtf.
Dragons or Raiders enquiring.
Leulia is requesting a new 4 year contract based around $900,000.
Also Shane Flanagan has been taking so notes off the god father on how to dodge the cap; considering releasing Corey Allen because he is injured.
Sharks were over the cap before and after their premiership but not that year
I’d be sure he has a trick or 3 that he won’t need to consult

Geeze that’s crazy…read the room Lucy.
Sure it wasn’t 900k total?
Totally crazy.

St George may just pay something close to that because they need forwards...

But boy that's crazy.

From memory BJ was on 700k. I might have myself confused but I believe LL was on very good coin with the Cowboys, which surprised me as they had plenty of forwards ready to go.

...
Oh yea Easts are looking for forwards. Expect a signing at 250k and LL ranting about Culture or something as a paper bag is slid under the table.

$225k a year is probably about right for Luc.

Forwards who have a pass in their game and can create plus size are in demand. Luciano can create and obviously some clubs rate that skill.

If they are desperate it could be $ 900 for four years, but as Napoleon said "N'interrompez jamais un ennemi qui est en train de faire une erreur."!

I always attributed that comment to Sun Tzu (but obviously in chinese) and it has been copied ever since by other outstanding commanders

Look I don’t like how he left the club and think he is a lazy player with a heap of potential - that aside. He isn’t a lower wage adhoc squad depth player, he is a mid tier forward value wise - $225k is below what he should earn.

Imagine he would be more a 350k-450k in todays market player roster wise. He is coming off a low season & dui charge.

For him to be released I assume a financial agreement was made with the cowboys also so this year he would have coverage to sign lower but next year he would be in the mid tier forward price range.

Can only think the $900k talk is over 2yrs or something. Zero chance he gets anything close to that. He isn’t a premier game breaking forward.

Reports stating Luciano Leilua has set an asking price for a potential new club at 900k per season.
He must think he is Kikau and Taumalolo rolled into one 🤷‍♂️
How did the Cowboys end up paying Leilua a tick north of $900,000-a-season?

The simple explanation is the edge forward had a ratchet clause meaning he got a 15 per cent increase once the NRL resolved the collective bargaining agreement last year.

I remember when luc left, there was some chat around it was such a huge offer and it was great for him and his family.

I think nth qld have over egged it and now he has terrible expectations.

ratchet clauses for an inconsistent backrower on that sort of money is ridiculous. good on him and his manager for sorting out that contract but that's terrible negotiating from North Queensland.

the thing that annoys me a little bit about this all is how willing St George are to take him on when the Cowboys are so hamstrung with their cap at the moment. if Luch does leave and the Dragons pay significant freight then all of the Cowboys' cap issues disappear.

They were reportedly going hard after Luki too. Must have got a no from him or it would jeopardise his chances of moving across to them.

Damn that's crazy. He caught the case around that
time too when he smashed his Misso's phone too
I believe. Not to gossip or nothing but he's probably
wanting 2 come back home. Townsville is nice &
things, but probably not 4 every1, the weather 2 lol
