Live music - Bands you have seen/Are planning to see

On the other hand.... it is good for the people that never saw them before - newer generations to witness something or somewhat of what was in their life time

Aaah! thanks for the memory booster! Yep, I reckon the portaloo was tipped over during part 3 when he sang "Before I know it, I'm losing the loo" Well, it sounded like that at the time!

Here is a pic of the Rocktober crowd and I couldn't find the pic of the tipped-over Port a Loo, but here's the Decanting team enroute to salvage the compost.

My old bad - Santana was at the Sydney Showground in 1973 not the SCG.

Here is my pic of the crowd from the grandstand and one of Carlos licking his fingers once I made my way to the front!

Seeing the Tay Tay posts are closed ( Why i don't know ) - thought i would post this pic from a guy on FB. You would need a pair of binoculars to see anything. In contrast i went to see the Cosmic Psychos a couple of weeks ago and was close enough to give Mad Macka a beer if he needed one ( which he usually does).

I remember when they were in the process of opening the (then) new Olympic Stadium - we went to see the Bee Gees.
They were like ants in the distance, and the ceiling TVs were not working.
They were like mere spicks and specks.
Then the trains were stuffed on the way home - AAAGGHHH!!

Been to countless shows over the years. I used to see a number of Aussie bands in my youth at various pubs/venues like the Angels, AC/DC, Chisel, INXS, Split Enz, Rose Tattoo, Machinations, Kevin Borich Express etc etc.

Overseas acts include, David Bowie, The Police, U2, Elton John, Paul McCartney (recent tour and he was still pretty good for 81 years of age), Billy Joel, Dire Straits, Bruce Springsteen (twice), Thin Lizzy, The Monkees (only 2 original members at the time), Style Council, Rodriguez etc. etc.
Thin Lizzy in their prime would of been real good to see. No relying on stage shows and special effects, just great tunes.

Whats happening with PJ tickets is a bit of a joke. Correct me if I’m wrong, but are we applying for tickets?
I got mine yesterday through the fan club. For the General sale you have to register for the sale by tonight and then apparently you will get an email through the week to confirm if you have been selected to participate in the sale. I think everyone will be selected to participate, its a fairly big venue.

Register here. https://www.ticketmaster.com.au/pearl-jam

Yes/No/only if they can still put it together.

I saw two bands that could be categorized as Geriatric.

Simon and Garfunkel - 100% awesome. Ofcourse you have to be into their songs and like them. That said their voices were incredible, they had immense polish still and I still rate them. Naturally being so much older there must have been a decline, I could not tell. If you are a classically trained singer you may notice, I could not tell.

ACDC - They knocked the socks off the stadium. Still Naughty. Brian Johnson as scratchy as ever. Yet it was fine as it mirrored his style. Great concert and a giant "Rosie" inflatable, which I am sure a fan brought for other purposes.

Some of these bands should have declined. How on earth can Kiss keep touring and maintaining quality I have no idea (Haven't seen them, so don't know). Friend saw Paul McCarthy and said he was still "great" but better last time.

Wait I forgot one.

Rose Tattoo - Angry Anderson says a lot of crap now*. But see him in concert, he is awesome. They are clearly an under-rated Australian band and really should be in the same category as ACDC. I can see how they inspired Guns and Roses.

It's kinda worrying as the next generation will remember these guys a step below what they were. It's also maybe their only chance. Meh people have money and meh Artists have wonderful habits they need to fund... it's a Win Win.

*Worth hearing him speak at the concert too. He talks of the Eureka Stockade and how Australia really gave it back to the British who imprisoned us. But yea, the guy says a lot of crap too.
