Justin Pascoe

This is well worth a listen it’s a good reminder that Justin Pascoe is a person and has feeling just like the rest of us. he tried but unfortunately failed to bring success to this club

I thought he spoke well and highlighted issues we have all been complaining about.

I think the context he provided about what he walked into might help people to see how far behind we were as a club and that was always going to take time to fix.

It was also clear he had to deal with a board that was a little out of control and his hands were often tied. Made clear the Fulton decision was made by the board and he was the one that delivered the message.

Halfway through. Pascoe's approach to CEO seems inspired by David Brent from the office. He's a 'transformative' ceo who likes to be casual, who never intervenes in other people's roles and is accountable for everything but who was strangely not responsible for the Fulton mess, who just loves a practical joke and who wished the tiger town documentary focused more on his jokes, and who uses corporate jargon in place of actual ideas.

He seems like someone who never sees anything coming. It's just sad how many mistakes were made and how he seemed to never be held accountable by the club.
Pascoe was great with numbers, but not that great with leadership and people.

I see Justin coming back in a CFO role, and Lee investing Brydens' budget as our major sponsor for another year, with a view to being back on the board in 2025.

Moved the posts to the correct thread.

2GB Ray Hadley called the CEO and the board to get his mates son a job, They crapped themselves and knowingly didnt tell Sheens and Benji.

Im very grateful as it cost them their jobs and we are in a better place now.
Yep
Influential person contacts person on the board and the instruction is fed down the line to get it done without telling coaches
Dumb decision which ever way you look at it and not the way a good club would be run.

I can't see Justin taking a step down.

I'm sure there are more stories than that. The series Wild Wests should have been shot last year. It should have been shot over Sheen's tenure and Benji's induction and focused on our new direction and the board.

That would have been a much better story.

In the end, I think we will be in the middle of the pack this year, but 2025, look out

I think that's the challenge of Justin. He seems to like to point out he's the top dog a lot. "Ask the Boss", The naden story, calling other people at the club "workers". It doesn't set a good cultural tone if you're trying to build a team environment.

The grandiosity is something he should work on.
Completely agree - the behaviour doesn’t actually match the talk.

What’s the story?
He played a practical joke on Naden, calling him in to his office and saying things like “what have you done on the weekend…I know what you did, it’s time you come clean” and Naden had no idea what was going on. Basically was pretending he had calls from the media stating Naden was in trouble but he’d done nothing wrong.

A hilarious bit of comedy from a brilliant entertainer

Called him into his office and closed the blinds.

Asked him to be honest and tell him what he did on the weekend because he was there to protect him and the club.

Made Naden think something had blown up in the media.

Basically because Naden was being a pest at training.

Amusing story, but probably had to be there for full effect.
Sounds like Michael Scott

So you reckon Tales of Tiger Town would have shown the club in a more positive light if filmed in 2023 - when we got the wooden spoon for a second consecutive year - sacked the new coach mid-season and subsequently undertook the independent review that claimed Pascoe and Lee's scalps...??

He wasn't great with numbers either - or our salary cap would not have been the mess it has been.

CFOs are a dime a dozen - no wonder nobody is lining up for his services!!

Next you'll be telling us that Lee is one of the greatest legal minds of his generation... not just the bottom feeding no win-no fee compo lawyer he is actually is!

I don’t know if Justin can comeback if he wasn’t technically sacked? I suppose it’s been done before, I mean people returning after leaving of their own volition?

I can see Justin coming back in a CFO role at WT. But it's one problem at a time. Our biggest problem at the moment is getting out of the pool.

I wonder how much of this was an attempt at distancing himself and rewriting history

Justin wont be back and Lee I think may pull the pin once his deal expires , I would think Ricoh is already organising a replacement as they are not falling off trees it may take a bit of time
