1 would have to be Mason you would think.

Hope they give Herman a bench spot!

I expect Mason to potentially take that FB spot and maybe even Fainu or Galvin for that 7 spot.

I do hope they let Herman take that last bench spot and I feel Faagutu is wasted as a prop. I'd prefer him at lock over Nicholas or even that vacant 12 spot

These are the Jersey Flegg eligible players not listed (in any grade) for Saturday ...

Latu Fainu
Solomone Saukuru
Josh Feledy
Iverson Matai
Tony Sukkar
Heath Mason
Luke Laulilii
Sione Vaihu

Possibly some are being saved for NSW Cup the following week & some may still have niggles/rehab.

next Tuesday will give us a fair idea with all three grades named.

Feledy and Saukuru are the most interesting ones as I thought there was no place for either of them in Cup at this point. Laulili'i and Mason are apparently just unavailable, while Fainu, Matai, Sukkar and Vaihu you'd think will all be named in Cup.

I've got to say this lineup is a lot weaker than I thought it would be. No SG ball players, the only senior players picked are Faagutu and Tumeth. Looks like they're giving those who've been training together all off season first shot before introducing fresh faces, but we have a lot more talent than this shows, and not enough spots in the grades to fit them all...

Every single Flegg team named this week (bar a few) has players missing from the lineups.

Would think it's a NSWRL.com issue.
The fijian lineup still hasn't beed added yet. Its just our boys, with a few blank spots still.

NSWRL are very unprofessional, but hey Vlandys got to send a bunch of players and journos on a fairly unsuccessful junket to the US, so all is dandy....

they must be planning on filtering the SG talent into Flegg once the season has finished, which personally I didn't think would be the case. I'd heard that Richo couldn't give a hoot about trophies and accolades at junior rep level and was hellbent on providing first grade-ready talent.

it's not a huge issue, as eventually they'll all make their way in, but I did think we'd see guys like Mason, Willett, Kit and Luke, Miller, Craig and Da Silva there early, with guys like Mitch Taotua, Denzel Schaafhausen, Daniel Waqa and Heith Pritchard all making their Flegg debuts this year.

Yeah I don't get what is going on with Flegg.

Depending on the fitness of those guys, you'd think we'd want to get some match fitness in a number of them, particular the first 3 listed.

It's also an opportunity to play Galvin in the back row against players his age, but no sign of him either. Must be being saved for NRL I guess. I don't see the point in saving someone for NSW Cup.

Agreed turn him into a 12 to replace the Pom, or 13 if CV laualili doesn’t make it!

From what I've seen of Faagutu I don't see how he could be successful on an edge, he's too heavy set and not agile enough. Great frame for Prop or lock

Well he was a centre coming through the ages until the island genes kicked in lol

at this point I’ll be surprised if Galvin isn’t named in the NRL 17 next Tuesday. I think his preseason and performance in the trial has seen him force his way in.

It looks that way, but he could put him to state cup also. To get his legs playing against men. But it’s more likely he’ll be in the 17.

Looks like all 3 of our matches at Lidcombe will be covered by NSWRL TV on Saturday including Jersey Flegg going by this paragraph in a press release from NSWRL:

NSWRL TV will showcase all Jersey Flegg Cup matches in Australia and New Zealand featuring the Silktails, one game per week from the Ron Massey Cup, and the finals series of all competitions including the Sydney Shield.
