The big three

I’m going to call it. Wests Tigers went down the tube when we they broke up the ‘big four’ who were supposed to take us to the promised land.

Since then we’ve been forced to put up with a succession of nomads who had no care for the jersey.

In Bula, Stef and Api, we finally have our own big three again. Players who would shine at any level. Throw in Lachy and Romey and it’s not looking so bad being a Tiger 😎

Bula and Stef have really stepped up so far this season I’m impressed.
Obviously API has been a high level player for many years, but pleasing to see a player at the back end of his career cone to Wests Tigers and give his all to help us be a competitive side.
Galvin is certainly a fresh air and how can you not be impressed with how he’s going 2 games into his career. What I would say is we need him to focus on the run first, pass or kick second attitude as opposing teams will quickly start to work him out if he becomes a halve who mainly passes the ball rather than looking to run.

Bula, Galvin & Koroisau

Depending on how Galvin goes, I would be reluctant to move him to any other position at the expense of anyone.

It’s unfortunate but I would rather a tested Galvin over an untested Fainu in future.
Galvin is going nowhere. Watched him closely live for the first time and the kid is tough. I think (provided we stay healthy) he’ll stay in the halves and Fainu and Bud will fight out #14.

managed by Moses and is playing good football, plenty of teams will be lining up to sign him. We will have a hell of a fight on our hands, Moses is the master manipulator we haveen it before

If he doesn't get named for NSW, I'm switching to Qld

Mate he’s unlocking the good players around him. I’m happy with his ball play and I’m sure his running game will get better as he matures. His defense has been impressive.

No I agree with you.

I just get a sick feeling in my stomach thinking of the "big four".
This is shaping as the year all of them dominate the league but for different teams. Just hoping it coincides with our revival.

* obviously minus Sharon.

This guy needs to be included in any "big three/four" argument!

In the 2 games this season thus far he is averaging 58 mins, 137 metres, 60 post contact metres and 28 tackles (1.5 missed).

He has been a shining light since his debut and his consistency in that time for a bloke who is still 21 has been far more impressive than Stef.

PS - bench impact players as some believe he is don't average 60 odd minutes per game - he needs to start because he is capable of big minutes at a very high standard!

All good teams need guys who do their job and don’t get the accolades. I’m not as concerned about the lock position after last night.

When others were getting tired ..he was still looking fit , getting line speed up in defence and smashing the Sharkies.

Yep - massive engine and aerobic capacity - along with fast twitch muscle fiber for a bloke built like a brick BBQ!

Just because he plays with impact - does not relegate him to an impact player!

isn’t it funny that Bula would improve considering he has only played like 15 games or something 😂…

I think previously you were expecting him to be Ponga from the get go .. you getting a bit more comfortable around his salary ? 😆

There is no BIG 3.

Ivan was right, or more right with the Big 17 (the big 17 becoming the big22-25 was 100% wrong IMHO)..
Not to take away from Stefano, Papalii (glad to see you put in), Api, Galvin or Bula. ... This was a team effort.

This was a team effort.
The stat's show this. 53%-47% possession, which is not much in our favour.
Completion rate around the 85% mark, ineffective tacles low... where they need to be to win this. Otherwise NOTHING that really leans in our favour.

Ok Sharks had a man or two out. They were meant to win this game. We turned up and won instead.

The last time I saw a single player win it for us was Ryan Matterson (yes I hate his guts too), He tackled his guts out and scored 1-2 tries. Those days are really no more.

It's a team effort. We see how Faatape and Olam make such a difference in the middle and can actually hold a line. We see Galvin and Sezer organise the play and we see our forwards earn their cheques.

Cmon WT, give us hope! Dissapoint us at the end of the season and return us to 9th where we can lament on missing the finals instead of getting the spoon
