Theres no way refs are making blatant decisions that affect the game outcome thinking they are covered.
The scrutiny will be immense if they get it wrong. Their character is often called into question. The bunker had to be involved with that decision.

You’re kidding right? There’s been heaps of last minute penalty shots given to teams to win over the years. Don’t ask me to list them, I’m not David Middleton, but I know I’ve seen them happen, and not only to us.

I’m not talking any penalty awarded at the end .. but in this manner which has now happened to us twice in 2 years..

taking the lead with seconds left ..attempting to then field a short kick and being penalised … the penalty yesterday should have gone our way…

Well quite simply it wasn't a Parra Penalty. It was a Disruptor attempt to stop Bula from catching the kick. The ref didn't just err he clearly made a crooked decision. - every other day of the week it goes against the Eels player. He could have sent it up to the bunker but chose to stab us in the back!

Wouldve been a nice time to pull out our challenge, but we wasted it earlier on loose carry that wasn't even close to a strip.

Sounds like a setup, do you think money may have changed hands ? Is that referee an unreliable person who favours certain teams ? Perhaps you may have evidence of his dishonesty .
Or is it just what the officials thought they saw ? And we just happened to be on the end of it. I remember there was a lot of discussion about Kleins involvement in the NQ fiasco.
Did we ever clarify if he was actually a cheat who presented the game to them ?

I didn’t say it was made up - I can see the justification. I just disagree with the ruling.

With respect Hal, your post is a rambling nonsense about something I neither stated or suggested. At no time did I suggest there was anything untoward, corrupt or anything like that. I don’t believe there was a bunker discussion yesterday, I believe the call was just made on the field.

The ref was not good yesterday . Some absolutely ridiculous, against the flow of the game offside penalties when we had the ascendancy in the first half . Too that point I don’t recall 1 eels offside penalty all game . We had 3 when we were attacking with our defence . It caused the huge momentum swing , that had us defending our line for 25 mins .
Sure the drop balls kept us there , but what put us there in the first place was the typical eels piggy back penalties , that I swear they always get more than any other team outside of the broncos .
I wonder if it’s because gutho and Moses are constantly in the refs ear , and milking penalties has to be taught by Arthur as to the frequency it happens across the whole squad .
I also thought some of his knock on decisions , of which we were supposed to be the beneficiaries, were horrendous as well . And gutho was right to challenge . Not to mention the brain fart by the bunker at the end .
We got out of it , by not letting these decisions eat us , but the refs tried really hard to screw us , not because of incompetence or bias or anything , but I think they were influenced by the occasion .

I was there 20m away for last play
Yes Bula did jump and touch ball and Papalii dived on a ball a foot in front of him but I thought and Eels player jumped and put hand on Bulas shoulder pulling him down a split second before Bula made contact
My problem was the10- 3 pen count with a number of yardage penalties saying one or two crept a meter or two inside the 10 at the instant ball played .Well Parra on a few occasions were similar but not once penalised .Home ground syndrome !

The penalty count flattered Parramatta, their handling errors cost them the game. In saying that, when the game went to 14-6 we could have easily rolled over and let the game slip like so many times before. They dug in, kept working especially in defence, and were patient. The ref was ordinary (even we received a couple of bad calls, to which Guffo correctly made captains challenges on,) but a good side will stay in the contest.

At the end of the day at the end of the 80 minutes we did enough to win the game. It was good to see Guffo not have anything to say after shanking that penalty goal. At the moment we just need to keep winning, unfortunate to lose Galvin for a couple of weeks but a couple of weeks rest might benefit him too.

Just on Sivo, I thought Charlie handled him pretty well. Was very worried he'd get rolled by him all afternoon but he contained him well for the most part.

Take your point on the diving at the legs, but diving on the ball was still the right move, was probably banking on the interference on the kick being called. Imagine if he hadn't dived on it, Parra managed to get the ball away and ran away to score, we'd be calling for his head.

You could 'Argue' a disrupter (the new buzz word)
but I didn't see anything that definitively indicates Harper wasn't trying to do the same thing as Bula and Bat the ball to a team mate....
Just harder to position when you're under the ball.

was a stiff penalty and thankfully the football gods were with us. I think we were probably happy to concede a few penalties and back our defence, but the interesting this is the count never evened up, even in the last 20 when Parra were shot and lying all over us. you're going to have days like that when everything goes against you, you just have to be resilient and take your chances. thankfully we did.

I think one of the issues here is that it's a highly disputable moment with no time left to play and the bunker is not at all involved.

Maybe the NRL should do something about that, where you don't need to have a captain's challenge available for the video to double-check a point-scoring opportunity.

Because it's a silly situation where 100% of tries are checked, and 100% of dead-balls are checked (because there is a stop in play and the bunker looks at it), and most high shots are checked... but where the opposition earns a penalty and take a shot at goal, the bunker doesn't do anything about it.

I'm pretty confident if Tigers use a captain's challenge at the death they pick up the offside and/or Morgan Harper interfering with both IP and Bula.
